Related topic - anyone know why there isn't more fallout from his visits to Howard Stern's shows? I can imagine some strict NDAs mayhap? They tended to berate his orangeness from what I remember.

he has been known to say slurs on his reality show to the contestants, not directly though. he especially hates BLACK people on his show.

Well yeah, I knew the whole movie couldn't be just some gooey sh...ow of emotion.

This is an immediate classic from the Onion. Kudos.

I absolutely ate the onion here. I just kept nodding.... "yep...sounds right... poor director having to deal with this... yep... jeez... WOW".

We have hours of him making racial slurs on the campaign trail.

You know how fucked the times are, when You are surprised it's The Onion. The article is still funny.

Yeah, I kept thinking, "Wait, wasn't this a real news story?" Apparently it was the Onion all along.

I personally believe it is true and the footage will be released soon

Truth in 2025 is whatever your heart desires.

It was, quite frankly, so believable that I too nearly missed that it was the Onion. I think we are at peak Poe's Law.

Dats the joke.

give it a week or two and some actual footage from back then gets out that makes this onion true.

I saw the community in which it was posted, but assumed this was a real article in the wrong community.

I have to admit that I got to the comments before realizing it's the Onion.

I remember in the 90s when the onion was much less known, and therefore unclear to the reader that it was parody.

At the time, life made sense. So the onion coming out with articles about bill clinton putting monica lewinski in charge as the head of the national department of sexual education, it came off as very out of place in the realm of real news. MOST people read the articles, and knew something was amiss, even if they didn't know what the onion was. Still though, some people still believed the wacky absurd news articles, and it put a spotlight on those who had zero critical thinking skills. THATS what made the onion fun back then. Laughing at the boomers who got fussy over literal fake news. Back before the term "fake news" was a thing.

Now though? The onion still posts wildly unbelievable absurd stories, but because real life is wildly unrealistic and absurd, even people who fully understand what the onion is still fall for it. Simply by doing nothing differently, they are now far more believable, and don't immediately stand out as unrealistic anymore.

Very believable. Don't think his psycho followers care much.

He brought hulk hogan to the RNC. You know....hulk hogan. The same guy who was caught on tape saying literally "I'm a little bit racist to a point. I think we're all a little racist" in reference to the man his own daughter was dating at the time after using the N word against him multiple times.

And yes, he's appologized multiple times, but here's the thing. He didn't know he was being recorded when he said the racist remarks. He knew he was being recorded in the appologies.

One of those set of remarks shows a glimpse into his true self. And yet, the RNC cheered him with welcoming open arms. That should tell you everything you need to know.
