Why would you vote Trump if youre relying on federal grant money? Its not like he hid the fact tbat he was gonna slash and burn govt programs. People really need to pay the fuck attention to what theyre voting for...jesus christ.
Their local media didn't cover any of that. And that's the problem. It's not a case of stupidity or willful ignorance for a lot of them. They don't get their news from cable or online. Just their local reliable broadcaster. Which over the last 20 years has been bought now and replaced with propaganda from companies like Sinclair.

It's clear to me close to half the population stopped thinking after they heard "make America great again".
Imagine someone with totally average intelligence. Then realize 50% of people are dumber than that. Also - they think they are smart.

If there's anything good that could come out of the entire Trump situation, it would be finally breaking the illusion and myth that Republicans are good for the economy and Republicans are good for farmers. It's apparent they will try to keep their head in the sand until they nearly suffocate though.
As you note, they've never been good for either the economy or farmers and that hasn't stopped them yet. I fear very little will change.
