This is not a meme. This is a quote from Trump’s border czar on why he was ignoring Judge James Boasberg’s orders.

https://www.democracynow.org/2025/3/18/headlines/i_dont_care_what_the_judges_think_trump_administration_rejects_court_orders_on_deportations

The case was brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. Speaking after Monday’s hearing, ACLU lawyer Lee Gelernt called the situation a “constitutional crisis.”

Lee Gelernt: “At this point, it seems like the administration is simply walking into court and telling a federal court they can’t look at the evidence, they can’t stop what they’re doing, and we see constant public statements from administration officials criticizing federal judges, saying they don’t have authority. I think we’re on dangerous ground here in the United States.”

So long for the law and order right...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

No, see, you’re thinking of “Rule of Law,” the principal wherein the same set of laws apply equally to everyone regardless of station. “Law and Order” has always been conservative NewSpeak for keeping the lower classes disenfranchised and demoralized via fear of Law Enforcement.

When I picture the word “oaf” I see this man.

Tom Homan wishes he'd been born a German in the 1910's.

A true believer.

And yes, he's Trump's guy, but he was also Obama's guy. Sickening.

Funny, me too. Me too.

People need to watch the Historia Civilis' July Revolution of 1820 to 1830.

History sure does look a lot similar

The only way democracy survives these times involves things more drastic than protests

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 months ago

It is a good sign that the protests have been so plentiful and so ongoing. It's been almost 3 months and there's still protests happening at every opportunity because this admin just keeps fucking more and more people over.

All that 2A love but neither the brains to realize what's happening nor the balls to do anything about it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There's a 3rd scenario where the person is just trying to survive. I don't fault a single mom for wanting a gun to protect her kid. But I also don't expect her to risk the food and shelter of that kid to do something extreme.

That's not what the 2A/NRA goombas claim when they cosplay Navy SEALS.

No but they’re the ones that are cheering on ICE, right up until it deports their brides waiting for green cards.

Among the Dems many mistakes was demonizing gun owners and driving many of them to the fascist party while discouraging their own voters from owning guns.

Someone please throw a special can of food at him, Canadian-circa-WWI style.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

See, what we did was throw cans of food to hungry Germans. It was when they asked for more that the grenades came.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

They shouldnt have been so greedy.

This guy's a giant piece of shit. I can't believe he's even in government. You'd have to be a real asshole to give this guy a government job where he's actually running things and able to affect people's lives.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is the second asshole he's been allowed to serve under.

Obama administration (2014–2016)

He was appointed by President Barack Obama as Immigration and Customs Enforcement's executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations in 2013.

By 2014 under the Obama administration, Homan had begun to argue that separating children from their caregivers would be an effective means of discouraging illegal border crossings. The journalist Caitlin Dickerson describes him as the "intellectual father" of the policy, which he outlined years before it was adopted by the Trump administration. “Most parents don’t want to be separated,” Homan told Dickerson. He argued that this fact made separation an effective tool for immigration enforcement: “I’d be lying to you if I didn’t think that would have an effect.”

In 2015, President Obama gave him a Presidential Rank Award as a Distinguished Executive. A Washington Post article at the time stated, "Thomas Homan deports people. And he's really good at it."

The illusion of 2 parties is quickly broken when you look through history.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ah yes thank God we avoided the Harris dictatorship

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Judging by how little resistance the democratic party is giving to the extreme measures taken by the GOP I stand by my statement. Would the democrats have implemented these things if they won? Their campaign claimed they were different but they sure aren't doing anything to stop it! (Oh except for holding up signs in congress condemning the actions and then voting along with the GOP anyway)

[–] [email protected] 34 points 2 months ago

Hey Republicans, here's one of them traitors you complain about.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Maybe one should jail him. Then we can really kick off this crisis.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How is a judge going to enforce it? The justice department's not going to help. And even if a judge could somehow get it done, Trump just has to sign a pardon.

They spent decades giving more and more power to the president, and now there's basically no checks left. Even if by some miracle Trump got impeached and convicted, who's going to actually kick him out of the White House?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How would contempt work? Would the lawyer go to jail? I don't see that as a stumbling block.
