Any Republican with the capability to be embarrassed has left the party. Anyone remaining is complicit.

The post-Reagan GOP has only ever been about more government, more police, more fascism. She's fallen for the classic blunder of assuming that fascists ever argue in good faith. They don't give a shit that they talk about being the party of small government and yet can't wait to use techno-feudalism to make sure that gay people aren't secretly having sex. They're not arguing for small government in good faith and never have done.

This is the bastard child of capitalists and fascists. They both need each other and both think they are in charge of the other.

The real truth time and time again for 10k years is labor has the power.

I think that crap resonates with people because they think smaller government = lower taxes. If there’s one thing conservatives love to obsess about more than other people’s genitals it’s money. Even if they’re poor and pay a negative tax rate.

Current political stage is more left vs right, progressive vs conservative, woke vs antiwoke. Russia is ally of conservatives, because their politics are far right conservative.

I think you're missing proletariat vs. bourgeoisie. The tarrifs are a direct attack from each capitalist nation on its working class. They do not net negatively hurt capital. On the contrary they allow a manufacturing of concent for further suffering the working class of each nation will endure while the capitalist class of each nation will further strengthen the nationalism of each country. And further concentrate wealth in fewer hands.

"America first", "Buy European", etc. These are all excuses to further worsen the material conditions of its people, build it's nationalism and xenophobia, and build concent for more war.

That's not quite right. Russia is not conservative in the American sense of the term, although they are far right in terms of authoritarian rule. They're an oligarchy. But their 10-year psy-op against American conservatives has been incredibly successful. They are up to their eyeballs in Russian conditioning and behavioral modification.

It's actually incredibly impressive. Turns out that Russia won the Cold War, and their greatest former adversaries (American conservatives) ended up being the United States' weakest link at the end of the game. Endlessly fascinating stuff.

They’re an oligarchy.

And the US is not?

Under the current administration we indeed aspire to be more like Russia and are succeeding.

They are ultra conservative in internal politics and in public opinion, which is of course controlled by their state controlled media.

Russia's internal policies are wet dreams of American conservatives.

Much of this situation is because of the Russian long running psyop campaign against American public opinion. Dividing nations is default Russian psyop playbook. They have been done that all over the world, and they are proud of it.

Yes, they have that "social conservativism" that has become the shared obsession of the American right thanks to Russia's brilliant disinfo and behavioral modification campaign.

I just meant that, economically, they do not share American conservative values. For example, the typical poor Russian can't just work their way up the social ladder, start their own business, hit it big, own a bunch of property, etc. You must be born into it, full stop. This is the piece that American conservatives fail to understand in their Russian aspirations, and why, at the end of the day, they really do not want to be Russian despite what they've been brainwashed to believe.
