Just switched to Lemmy for this exact reason! Got banned for god knows why and immediately deleted Reddit.

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.
**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **
YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
I just made the switch to lemm.ee so I think I might just “incite violence” and nuke my account. Good riddance.
Everybody log into your reddit accounts and post "Luigi" everywhere you can.
Hey everyone, there's a lot of you. You ever think maybe you can just troll them by none stop posting to all their subreddits. Hell the mods are like the same 20 people in over 5000 sub reddits. That's a weak point.
For a brief few years we had communication platforms that could topple dictatorships but now here we are.
Yeah, now we have platforms that can topple democracies
censoring Luigi
lemmy.world mods be like: 👀
To be fair, lemmy.world response was more like "can you folks please not get us nuked IRL, we have to remove the most colourful posts, sorry" and not this Reddit response, which is more like "has anyone seen Spez? He locked himself in the closet with a shotgun aimed at the door, and we hear some agitated breathing from that direction every time someone nearby plays a Mario game"
We're on a lemmy.world community right now and people seem to be talking about it just fine...?
Just nuked my entire reddit account due to this blatant censorship. Hello Lemmy and lemm.ee it's nice to be here
Me too.
Welcome I have been a reddit refugee for some time. And have been having a great time.
Welcome you two! We've got Star Trek, Linux and beans!
...
Hopefully some other topics will become viable later.
Don't forget communism!
So sad and happy at the same time. I enjoyed reddit for awhile so its sad to see it go further downhill but kinda happy cause fuck all of that shit they are trying to do.
It sounds like you're referring to the decline of some subreddits or the platform itself in terms of user engagement. The fact that the momentum was huge to begin with makes it especially noticeable when things start to slow down or face setbacks.
The niche subreddits may have kept some level of activity, but when issues like policy changes, algorithm shifts, or moderation controversies come into play, even strong communities can feel the effects. This "tipping point" you're talking about could definitely be the result of cumulative frustrations—users abandoning the platform or less engagement due to the direction things are heading.
It's always tough to watch a space you care about lose its initial energy. It can make it harder for those smaller communities to thrive, especially if the broader platform shifts away from what made it great in the first place.
