Hey there I'm really stingy with money but I want to improve my quality of life with buying certain useful items, what should I buy? Could be wall decorations, games, anything

Decoration is not supposed to be useful, by definition.

I think it's interesting to set a budget and start noticing things that you like. Kind of random stuff that gets your attention for no apparent reason, just because it resonates with you.

And then you can think about how to fit more of "these" with your budget.

Could be board games, posters, cards, whatever. It's whatever makes you feel like yourself. Then hoard them in. :D

I don't know why but having even a small bookshelf makes the space a lot better.

Tapestrys! You can get a huge one for cheap, and hang it on the wall. Its a nice way to cover a wall with something pretty and is a fraction the cost of most other wall decorations of the same size.

Also one thing i like to do is just make anything into decorations. Like just find stuff and make it decoration. Garage sales, craigslist, and buying stuff that isn't meant to be decoration to use it as such. One time i bought a pack of post cards with oil painting art on them, and hung them up all next to eachother on the wall in a grid. Was only like 8$ and i got a ton of them.

Someone already mentioned sheets, but bedding in general. I spent 3 weeks in Vietnam in December and sleeping in comfy hotel beds revealed how lacking my situation at home was. When I got back, I purchased a new duvet, duvet cover, mattress topper, new pillows and cases, and a headboard (my bed was just a frame). The duvet is filled with wool and it's been perfect. I live in Canada and the nights have been cold, but not one of them have I been cold in my bed. I even stopped using a flat sheet since the duvet is inside of a cover. It's been the perfect balance. I'm never cold or sweaty.

If your walls are completely barren then that's sad and you should definitely buy something to hang. If you want it to be practical, get a wall clock.

i don't like clocks

Plants. The answer is always plants. With colourful pots.

if you want suggestions for plants, particularly ones that are hard to kill and easy to care for, I have a few tips (and beginner care tips)

A nice set of sheets. You spend a good chunk of your life sleeping. I like to buy cotton sateen weave sheets with very high thread counts. They are so soft and comfy, and it feels so nice to slip under the covers.
