Lemmy ate my reply. But the short version is that I actually do mostly agree with you. I try not do this myself, but it is linguistically difficult to speak more narrowly about the Nazis in Ukraine. I just think it's a wee bit of a stretch to assume that the comment you referenced actually refers to all Ukrainians.

How is it any different from saying "Americans" do such and such when their representatives say awful things? We know that there are American comrades, and we know that there are likely a great number more comrades in Ukraine. I really don't think the post was meant to disparage all Ukrainians. Just the ones that support what their representatives are saying.

That's not even a lemmygrad user. Regardless, I think the point is that the people in power are Nazis. Not the general populace. Ukraine is tearing down victory monuments for Christ's sakes. When Georgia starts doing that, I'll definitely be sympathetic to calling their government Nazis.

Oh you'll learn quick enough that beneath the cozy shell lies madness.

Also, spring berries are sold at the egg festival on the 13th for 100G apiece. I like to plan for them. Without speed gro fertiliser you're only getting two crops in before the end of the month, but they are still the most profitable spring crop. With the speed gro you can get from the spring crops bundle, you can get an extra crop if you turn in the bundle, plant, and fertilise the day of the festival.

If you're not interested in optimising, just play and have fun. Outside of two cutscenes in the first year, you won't miss anything. Everything is doable just as easily in year 20 as year 1.

But if you are interested in optimising...

  1. Don't let your farm get too big too quickly. You'll spend all your time watering.
  2. Fishing can be amazingly lucrative in the single player early game.
  3. Mining should be your primary activity until your farm is automated.
  4. Don't donate your first dinosaur egg or your first prismatic shard. You'll get more.
  5. Basic sprinklers are a trap. Wait for quality.
  6. Berries are great first year crops. Especially in 1.6 given the addition of a new way of processing them. But don't forget to grow a bit of everything.
  7. Resist the temptation to build a glorious hoard until the second year. Profits and bundles are the most important things in the first year.
  8. But that being said, never sell resources. Don't be afraid to buy them either (especially in the first year).
  9. Check the travelling cart every Friday and Sunday. High value items are red cabbage, rabbit's feet, and truffles. Getting these from the cart instead of producing them yourself will greatly aid in getting the bundles done earlier.
  10. make sure to plant a pomegranate and apple tree as early as you can manage in summer. Plan for a pig before the second week of fall.
  11. Fish are seasonal, and appear in different locations. However, outside of the legendary fish, none are unique to spring. This means you can delay worrying about fish bundles until summer. But you can't miss any more seasonal fish after that.

I saw that earlier and was going to post it here when I got back to my computer. Absolutely depressing. But if the comments at Phoronix were anything to go by, this isn't going over well. Hopefully sanity will prevail.

Opposed to the US. I once witnessed this in person. It was honestly kind of shocking at the time.

Way ahead of you.

It also needs saying that RAID is not a backup.

But I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you're able to recover it.

Yeah, that really puts it into perspective how amazing it was. China starts out around the start of the green line there (Asia), and ends around the red line (Americas). That's MASSIVELY ahead of the curve.

They're losing the war at a rapidly increasing rate. But they have to spin it as a victory. They've been claiming this entire time that the Russians are throwing massive amounts of men and materiel at them in human waves. It makes sense to keep using that claim and say that Ukraine is cleverly exploiting the dumb Russian tactics to increase the attrition rate.

Of course that all falls apart even if you only read western media, if you read further than the headline. The reality is an underequipped, under trained, under staffed UAF being sent to the frontline in their mass. Pretty much the opposite of what's advertised. You're not supposed to remember that Russia has air superiority and at least a 3:1 advantage in artillery and drones. You aren't supposed to see the military cemetaries in Ukraine adding hundreds of thousands of new plots.

You're just expected to forget all that, and believe Zelensky when he says that there have been less than 40k casualties, and Russians are throwing themselves on the brave Ukrainian bayonettes. Then this makes sense.

One more disillusioned by the lies.

Whatever credibility the United States had as an advocate for human rights has almost entirely vanished since the war began. Members of civil society have refused to respond to my efforts to contact them. Our office seeks to support journalists in the Middle East; yet when asked by NGOs if the US can help when Palestinian journalists are detained or killed in Gaza, I was disappointed that my government didn’t do more to protect them. Ninety Palestinian journalists in Gaza have been killed in the last five months, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. That is the most recorded in any single conflict since the CPJ started collecting data in 1992.
