This is an insult to Barbie. Barbie would never.

Ironically, ICE Barbie would be deported form Barbieland

I'm more bothered by the fact that it's not enough of an insult for this piece of shit. Barbie is supposed to be some sort of idealized female form. That does not fit for Noem at all, in my opinion, and it's also irrelevant.

I prefer to call her Gravel Pit, to remind people of where she hides her mistakes. Neither she, nor anyone else, should ever be allowed to forget that she dragged a puppy into a gravel pit and shot it solely because she failed to train it and then bragged about it in her book. She is a horrible human being, utterly lacking in compassion, and any name for her should highlight that aspect of her being rather than any physical traits she may or may not possess.

The term Barbie as an insult goes back a long time, just as Barbie does. I’m not entirely familiar with recent re-interpretations (I didn’t watch the movie from a few years ago.) But one traditional interpretation is that Barbie is plastic, and women who have had cosmetic surgery are sometimes referred to as plastic. That seems to fit a lot women in trumps circle. Or just “fake” in general both in appearance and personality.

The definition I know from old times is plastic body with empty head. A dumb girl that only have looks going for her.

?

Barbie does whatever makes the corporation money...

They'd 100% release an actual ICE Barbie if they thought it would make money.

Fuck fascists and all that, but it doesn't mean we have to defend corporations that will sell us out for a slightly higher short term profit margin

Had the same thought. I hadn't heard the term and I totally believed Mattel had just released an I. C. E Barbie. I'm sure they track in focus groups and we probably aren't too far off from that model flipping to being net profitable despite the poor liberal press.

I agree they totally would do this if they thought it would make money.

But I think they realize by doing an ICE Barbie they would piss off and alienate a lot of customers. So they are not touching this with a ten foot baton.

Are you comparing an ordinary, common toy to a top fascist government official? They're referring to Barbie the cartoon character. Deranged though she is, Kristi Noem isn't some piece of plastic getting stamped out by the millions and sold to children for playtime.

Fuck BigCorp, sure, but it doesn't mean we always need to assign a deeper meaning to someone's post beyond what they've said

I’m talking about Barbie, the fictional character. Growing up watching and loving the direct-to-video Barbie movies, I’m certain that Barbie absolutely would never.
