Texas doesn’t have registered Democrats because you don’t specify a party affiliation when you register to vote in Texas.
I’m not going to spot check the rest of the items, but this list is at least partially B.S. so the whole thing is suspect.
Yes, the Republicans cheat and voter suppression is the only thing that keeps them in power, but spreading misinformation about that voter suppression makes it harder to fight, not easier.
Pretty sure voter apathy is a bigger problem. Of course the former is a big one but you can't explain away 90 million not voting as simply voter suppression.
voter apathy(the ones that cant be bothered to vote or dint vote because they dont think its important) and LOW-Information voters.
Considering that a few posts down from this one is this about Oklahoma changing education standards to push the 2020 election Big Lie, I'm starting to think having integrity is a losing strategy no matter how much we wish it were otherwise.
How does "affiliating while registering" not equate to "registering as?"
Texas did in fact purge voter rolls in the lead up to the election, though it was months, not days, prior, and I haven't seen evidence of it being predominantly aimed at Democrats. However, the state does know what primary you voted in and can use that to formulate a "potential Democrat" list.
they know which counties leans democrats, thats how they target thier voter suppression methods there.
That was a mistake in my original post. I meant to say that you DON’T specify a political affiliation when you register.
Thanks for catching that, I edited the original post to fix it.
I live in a swing state area where bomb threats were called in on election day. This isn't b.s. at all.
There is some evidence that tabulating machines were tempered with. I was wondering if calling a bomb threat wasn't part of it.
When alarm was called and everyone left the building someone could get in and switched software.
The bomb threats were real. I never said every item on the list was fake… it’s the list itself is B.S.
Mixing real voter suppression techniques along with easily debunked fake ones makes the real ones more likely to be dismissed.
That’s why I said these sorts of misinformation posts make it harder to fight back against voter suppression.
it was also done by none other than russia, than these states decided to close thier polling after trump was in the lead too.
So one item wasn't BS. And you haven't provided evidence of even that much.
EDIT: See how this goes? I asked for credible evidence and have been accused of calling the whole thing fake, several times.
It made international news (here in Canada at least) and the FBI has a statement about it on their website.

Pretty weak sauce. Some threats were made. I'm sure they were! Can we get just a little more backing?
This is Journalism 101: Where, When, Who, Why, How, etc. That link answers none of that.
Were those threats made public? Taken seriously? Was there any real effects on the ground? I'm on here more than I need to be and didn't see a thing that day, nothing that stuck in my mind. Wouldn't you think this site would be blowing up with this news? Maybe I had my head completely up my ass on election day? And BTW, I'm in a highly contested state, so this should have been somewhat local news to me.
Fuck it. Lemmy wants to believe memes, no questions asked, as usual. Some grainy FB text and y'all are all in. Kinda reminds me of another group.
On Election Day in 2024, several U.S. polling places received bomb threats, many of which were later determined to be hoaxes. These threats disrupted voting in key battleground states, including Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Let me guess, NPR is posting fake news?
The threats were all over the news ON ELECTION DAY. What rock were you hiding under that you think this is fake?
Right, someone tells you, there were bomb threats in my district, and you counter with, nah, show me the evidence. Why even bother if you're gonna act like that. Yo cane easily google this stuff and see people aren't lying.
