fucken hell, incident on werribee line, very tall muscular arsehole threatens to kill the muslims in the carriage
people crowd around the muslims in carriage to protect
at the next stop I got off and called emergency line, cops and train driver informed within 1 minute
i'm not scared, just angry
I'm so sorry you and the others in the carriage had to go through that, what an awful situation. You did so good to call for help and I love to hear that others helped. What a shitty, shitty thing for that man to do. Look after yourself tonight, you are such an amazing person.
there was a young kid who got off at the same station as me, he was a witness in the same carriage but at the other end and he helped with details for the cops. He was a little shook up.
I've been wondering if I over reacted but the targets of this guy's threats were terrified. It was real. ๐
You did not over react. The situation was real and you handled it so well.
That's so scummy. I hope he goes to jail, repeats that to a large group of the people he's racist towards, and enjoys his reward... Racists seem to be getting bolder and I wish something would smack them back into their holes.
It really sucks that I wouldn't be able to do much to physically protect anyone in that situation. You did so well.
Edit: I've also thought that it's really dumb to make people push the emergency button in plain view of an aggressive arsehole, especially if you're required to verbally give the carriage number or tell them the situation. Because that might draw the aggression onto the person alerting the driver and even escalate the situation. I know there's STOP IT but that's non-urgent and wouldn't get real time help
this is the other reason i did not do it
just trying to keep it low key
yup
Jesus, I'm glad you're ok.
That's freaking terrifying. I hate that festering pustules like this can have so much power. Hope he gets put away for a good while
will he?
I imagine he will say he said and did nothing serious
would witnesses come forward?
maybe there are cameras in carriages
@Seagoon_ @just_kitten oh there are definitely cameras in the carriages.
good
Coward.
This is why I started muay Thai.
If that dude happens to be fucked up on meth I could be a 5-time Australian MMA champion and I'd give him a w i d e berth.
I've never picked a fight or actively antagonised anyone in my life.
But sometimes, people want to hurt you no matter what. As demonstrated above.
True, that.
yes
sometimes the decision to act is made for us, whether we want it or not
You did exactly the right thing (brother is a train driver). There are protocols for dealing with such arseholes, and he's in a world of hurt right now. The railways take that sort of behaviour very seriously - not just the vilification laws apply here. Remember the emergency button next to each door - it's there for this purpose.
๐ถ Here comes the judge
I looked for the button, could not find it it
to actually yell in a public place, in a train carriage where people are captive, that he is going to kill , to rattle his bag, to say he had heavy objects in his bag, **that was some very very serious shit **
he told us who he was
he told us who he hates
he gave his justification, ie people who are against him deserve to die
he rattled his weapons
he told us what he was going to do
Omg that's horrible ๐
I am both ๐คฌ๐ญ
makes me so sad that people were threatened and were scared
also makes me ashamed, Australia is where people come to be safe
Yeah it is rage-sad. Good that there were enough others to protect them and you were able to alert the coppers. Bloody hell I'd be shaky after that
I'll be shaky tomorrow
I've been thinking how easy it would be for witnesses to not understand what was going on
just another bogan is what a lot of people might think,
but this guy was very specific in his narrative and actions and he actually spurred me into action. I do not react so easily.
seriously, the kind of insane prick who would have a bomb
tho being cowardly he would leave
