Like the title! I want to cultivate some helpful skills but do so gradually, as a hobbyist. Tempted to get into lockpicking, haha.

Recommend this. My partner is a fantastic public speaker and I’m so jealous of her for it as it is such a useful and important skill. She wasn’t always good but has had professional tuition and coaching and then buckets of experience. You too can learn it - but it’s getting the practice in front of large audiences that’s the hard part. Her work has a presentation club where staff can volunteer to present anything of their interest to a large audience, just for the experience of doing so, which is a really nice low stakes way to do it. Perhaps universities may have a public speaking society which would do similar?

"powerpoint nights" seem to be taking off (both in friend groups and public ones) and they might fill a similar niche
