In 2024, Republican Donald Trump won the largest share of the vote ever for a Republican presidential nominee in the county, garnering 79.4% of the vote.

While it sucks for the 20% who voted against this, odds are damn high that anyone featured in a story is probably in the 80% that voted exactly for this.

Indeed. I would put the odds somewhere around 79.4%.

those vote breakdowns look really weird, how hard and fast the county went from solid reliable democrat to bleeding maga red.

Based on the total vote counts it looks like the vast majority of Dem voters left the county over the years while Rep voters were relatively stable.

1976 Rep: 4,107 Dem: 10,557 almost 15,000 voters

2008 Rep: 2,882 Dem: 3,430 about 6,200 voters

2024 Rep: 4,310 Dem: 1,036 about 5, 300

I don't really revel in the suffering of others, even when they voted against their own interests. There are billions of dollars spent manipulating these people.

Would say this would be a great moment to do some community outreach and help however I don't know how many resources the democratic party in WV would have to spare and the Democrat who introduced legislation to help fund relief was voted down.

They are grown adults so while being manipulated is certainly a problem they are still responsible for falling for it at the individual level. Like how crime is often the result of poverty and other stresses, but we still hold (most) individuals responsible for their actions.

The community is entirely about mocking people who are facing the consequences of voting for those who make them suffer, in case you didn't notice.

The sad thing about this is that probably for most of these folks this will only further confirm their views. Trump and his allies were pushing the idea that FEMA is corrupt and ineffective while Biden was still in office. The Trump admin will argue that this is FEMA's fault, not Trump's. His voters will eat it up.
