Hello Hexbear and Lemmygrad,

on grad we have a minecraft comunity with an associated minecraft server and matrix server. The server has been online sence quite a bit of time already, however, our playerbase is verry low and from my observation it seems most peoples aren't aware of it or of /c/minecraft in general. And so, I took it upon myself to see if there is peoples who would be interested in joining.

How to join the server is explained here megamind please stalin heart hands

That's sad. Was it intentional or something happened to the server?

Is it possible to get a world download of the old map? Or at least that part of the map where my builds are, so i can keep them for future reference?

Also, if i want to get back into playing on the new map, is the server address still the same and am i still whitelisted?

Can you use rsync, or ftp?

Or should I zip it and make it available from a browser?

Btw, it's 4.8 GB

I don't know what rsync is or how to use ftp, but if you want to walk me through it i can try to figure it out. Otherwise just zipping it and uploading it somewhere is probably simplest for those of us who are a bit tech illiterate.

If you think the file is too big to upload you can cut down the world size by pruning out the region files where nothing has been built.

I'm not sure what region files to prune. So I said fuck it and made a 7zip with the entire thing, it's only 3,5GB now, have fun: https://data2.encryptionin.space/world.7z
