  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Biden was polling worse than Kamala, so yes you still deserve shit. Biden had no chance in hell of winning. The dumb thing was running Biden at all in the first place and then switching to someone who wouldn’t denounce the crisis in Palestine.

and then switching to someone who wouldn’t denounce the crisis in Palestine.

Why do people here think they deserve to be catered to?

I support Palestine and I'm completely against Israel's genocide.

However, I'm not delusional. I understand the (voting) demographics in the US. And given the track record of progressive voters and parties (that is: completely uninvolved at every level, and crawling out of a hole every 4 years to be a spoiler candidate, only to vanish for another 4 years, respectively), I have no expectation that one of the two major parties in our bullshit two party system, is going to cater to or pander to my pet issues. No matter how important they may be. Why the fuck would they? We're not even a real voting bloc.

Leftists seem to think that they're just entitled to representation without doing a single fucking thing to create it. Instead they just whine about other people on the left (yes, including Democrats).

Leftists seem to think that they’re just entitled to representation without doing a single fucking thing to create it. Instead they just whine about other people on the left (yes, inducing Democrats).

So are we too small to listen to for anything, or such a big voting base across all swing states that we should have been listened to?

Are we both strong and weak?

At what point in my comment did I say that we should have been listened to?

We're all impressed that you know who Eugene Debs is.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I'm more impressed you consider yourself on the left after you've frequently defended liberalism. Slugs for Salt thinking they're Slugs for Sugar.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 11 hours ago

I'm not defending liberalism, but go on with your purity tests.

If they're too insignificant to listen to, they're too insignificant to blame.

In American politics, given the current state of the Overton Window, they are center-left.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Ronald Reagan would be a leftist in 2024 then?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Do you even understand the words that you're typing? Fuck off.

if words don't mean things, this is true

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago

They literally just said I'm using words wrong. While saying American has a center left pafty.

It's so funny they can't read their own words properly.

Honestly we should've been able to run a wet paper bag against Trump and win. But backing down 4 months before the election was the most cowardly tail tucking thing they did. If he was gonna back down it should've been from the beginning.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I know you're way more prescient than anyone else, but for all we know there are other reasons he stepped down when he did. What should he have done if for example he was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer of some kind?

The democrats fucked up in many ways but it's kinda gauche to be here claiming you knew everything that would happen and anyone who challenged you was an idiot.

Step 2 of that mistake was not holding an open primary to, at least, try to simulate an actual primary. 2 out of the last 3 dem potus nods have been all out coronation. The only outlier was biden who gave strong signals that his presidency would be a single term "return to normalcy".
