Welcome to Lemmy.fan!

This instance succeeds on one simple mantra: Be kind, and do unto others as you have done to yourself. Consider for a moment that we're ALL on the the same rapidly-spinning, mostly-watery orb, hurtling through space at fantastic speeds, and trading metal and paper for our livelihoods. The unknown will always dwarf the known. Learning never ends. We may be experts in something, but no one person is an expert in all things.

Given that, here our are very simple

Rules

Facts based in reality and science are not debatable.

Opinions are great, just be ready to back yours up with a solid foundation of factual information and/or research.

No NSFW communities are allowed to be created on this instance.

Community creation is encouraged so long as it is actively moderated.

Donations are not being accepted or expected. This rule may change IF the instance grows beyond current capacity. Please enjoy an ad-free, donation-free social media experience.

Lastly, negative behaviors such as trolling, harassment, stalking, brigading, and other offensive behaviors as judged by the instance admin(s) will not be tolerated. Immediate and permanent bans are issued for spammers, trollers, vote brigaders, stalkers, harassers, and those of similar ilk. All decisions will be made by the instance admin(s). Those decisions are final and incontestable.

That's the end of the boring but necessary stuff.

The specs of the phone are bombastic. 24 gigs of RAM for highest variant, 185 Hz support ( and I thought Moto's 144 Hz was the upper limit) but let down by only 2 Android OS upgrades. All major OEMs, even Chinese ones are committing to longer term update support and seeing a phone with such specs being let down by software is a disappointment.

Four50 Grill in North Battleford has amazing burgers - and very filling, you won't need supper after these. The one across is their D'Wiesen burger is filled with saurkraut, swiss cheese, and sausage all on a toasted pretzel bun, with onion rings. The closer one is a spicy pickle burger with a side of Buffalo chicken poutine. It's very yummy, but your daily sodium intake will skyrocket haha.

Summary

Donald Trump narrowly won the 2024 presidential election, securing the smallest popular vote margin for a victor in modern U.S. history, with just 1.6% over Kamala Harris.

Despite his win, Democrats performed unexpectedly well in down-ballot races, flipping Senate seats in swing states Trump carried and maintaining the House balance.

Republicans lack a clear mandate as Trump’s plans for deportations, ending birthright citizenship, political retribution, and tariffs clash with voters’ hopes for economic relief.

There’s likely to be backlash as voters realize the gap between what they wanted and what Trump plans to deliver.

It's worth making whatever kind of submission you can manage for this. The page even specifically notes: "Due to the short timeframe of this inquiry, the committee would appreciate submissions being limited to 1-2 pages."

This bill will affect all users of social media in Australia, and may have a particularly negative effect on Fediverse platforms (like Lemmy and Mastodon) which are operated by individuals or small organisations that may not have the resources to implement age verification.

This is so that it’s easier to plugin old and new consoles without having to go on my hands and knees to Plug and unplug consoles.
