Communities are also called communities in the german lemmy interface. Translating it would make it harder to understand. And promo is the same in german.

A community to promote german speaking communities on Lemmy, Piefed, Mbin etc.

It's basically this community, but for communities that communicate primarily in german.

Voyager can do this. Set the default feed to "Local" in Settings - General - Default Feed.

That's exactly my idea. I could have just donated and stayed quiet, but I thought I could inspire others to donate as well.

It started with me wanting to support Lemmy, my Lemmy instance and Voyager. Then I checked what other open source apps I had installed from F-Droid. It would exceed my budget to donate to them all, so I chose the 10 apps that I most frequently use.

This is just my personal list, but I thought it's a nice idea to share it and maybe others will do the same and donate to their most used open source apps and projects.

Based on this poll with 599 participants from the german [email protected] community, most of us are somewhere between 20 and 40 years old.

This is only a small fraction of lemmy users, maybe it just represents the age range of german meme enjoyers on lemmy, but I don't know of any other poll with a sample size this big.

Maybe sitting meditation just isn't for you. Have you tried walking meditation or some other movement based technique?

It takes a while. I waited a couple days for my confirmation mail to arrive. Keep in mind that Loops is being built by a single dev. If you read the toots by @dansup you'll see that it's a work in progress.

It started with an earworm and a rather stupid idea for a poll...

A couple days ago I asked [email protected] the question What is love?

99 shitposters say it's hurt me don't Baby

@[email protected] creates a Suno AI song with the new lyrics

It's a banger

🎵 What is love, hmm? 🎵
🎵 Hurt me don't, baby 🎵
🎵 Hurt me no more, don't 🎵

Meanwhile, according to 187 shitposters the answer to What is love is Baby hurt me don't

I've just read about ClubsAll in the Fediverse Report and did some digging. It seems to be another Threadiverse service federating with Lemmy and others.

While I always welcome new platforms into the fediverse, there are some weird things with this one.

  • It isn't open source, but the developer mentioned on ProductHunt that they want to open source it in the future.
  • You can't run your own ClubsAll instance at the moment
  • They want you to join their Discord, but wouldn't it be better to have the conversation around it on ClubsAll itself? I've found a ClubsAll Community on ClubsAll but it only has two posts from 10 months ago without any comments or upvotes.
  • Their main search bar is just a Google search
  • They want to finance it through paid accounts, awards and donations according to their about page.
  • According to their privacy policy they collect interactions with the content, like voting, bookmarking and reporting to improve and personalize the website and to develop new products and services and for marketing and promotional purposes.
  • I haven't found content that originated on ClubsAll yet, apart from c/ClubsAll. All I'm seeing is content federated from Lemmy communities.

For me there are some red flags in there, like closed source code, paid accounts and data collection for marketing. But, correct me if I'm wrong.
