calling for a “Manhattan Program” for EVs

I thought Tesla already cornered the market on exploding EVs?

“Not only would that be a gift to the fire, not only would it make the fire’s job easier if we were all mired in emergency response… [we are] a group that is disproportionately harmed by fire.”

a demand that we... allow ourselves to be victims of violence

Yes. It's me folks. I'm the one that's demanding this. The rest of the quote confirms why I will continue demanding it.

I hate the repulsive racist framing of “Arab Israelis” vs “Jewish Israelis” as though they’re equivalent mutually exclusive groups. There are indigenous Palestinians and there are settlers. Both are equally capable of choosing to practice Judaism or not, which does nothing to mystically alter their family history, place of birth, or national origin.

Stalin personally stood behind all 42 million people with a gun to each of their heads, and what’s unforgivable is that he didn’t even buy the gun from the US.

But I don’t want to believe that, I believe in every country being rational actors. I’ve seen the harm of western media characterizing whole countries as “evil” or “hate us for our freedoms”, I don’t want to do the same. I feel like I must’ve been missing a critical piece of the puzzle here. What am I missing?

Their actions follow rationally from the beliefs they share with the rest of “Western civilization”. They believe that a singular all powerful god created a racial hierarchy, put them at the top of it, and made the entire planet and everything in it for their exclusive use. They see the people they’re exterminating as nonhuman vermin infesting the planet god made for them. They respond to any sympathy for their victims the way an average person would respond to the suggestion that they should share their home with rats or cockroaches.

A well adjusted person might find it hard to accept that someone could genuinely believe that, but if you’re speaking English right now then you’re living in a state founded and ruled by people who fundamentally believe the same thing.

we’re still hearing, even almost 2 years later, that if Hamas released all hostages then the “war” would end immediately

Palestine could unconditionally release any remaining military prisoners and the IOF would still keep emulating the US POW/MIA policy of insisting that an unfalsifiable number of dead soldiers are actually still living hostages being secretly held underground in indefinite suspended animation.

radlibs love their DNC madlibs. surely this time a socdem winning a primary will be the thing that beats fascism and lets them go back to brunch. to be charitable, maybe they're literal teenagers who don't remember when Obama, Sanders, Warren, AOC, etc. was the One True Progressive whose election would reform the party and redeem the genocidal settler empire.

Well he can’t call out his respected colleagues in the Republican Party for their open admiration of Hitler, because that would be antisemitic and uncivil.

The sign violates a new law that prohibits the display of flags or banners have a political viewpoint

I’m glad someone finally had the courage to pass a law banning the display of the US flag
