Just a reminder:

No worries :)

Besides, it was the luck of the feed. The t-shirt post was only two posts above this one when I was browsing :)

It looks like you've replied to the wrong post. There's a post in [email protected] about a Luigi t-shirt 👍

Yeah, that's the one. I've just checked the Wikipedia page for it, and it was rereleased on the Switch, so I've got it muddled up.

Apologies OP :)

Sorry, yes, Meta Knight :)

My kid used to love one of the Kirby games for the Wii, where the three of us could play at the same time. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm pretty sure it was previously released for the SNES. It was the one with Armor Knight, if I'm remembering the character name correctly.

A lot of it is momentum / inertia? (I can't think of the right word).

Basically, Ubuntu was the distro for years. It was the one that just worked and was easy for new users. It built on Debian's stability and made everything easier. All the beginner guides and how to guides were written with Ubuntu in mind, so lots of new users switched to it too.

Mint built on Ubuntu's success, and made things even easier for people switching from Windows, by doing things like putting the start menu in the same place, and making everything look familiar. Because it's based on Ubuntu, the guides all still work too. As Canonical started making unpopular decisions with Ubuntu, Mint took the lead as the distro to switch to.

Now, other distros like Fedora, and DEs like KDE have caught up, and even passed Mint for ease of use, that history is hard to overcome :)

I thought I had disabled it, and I don't have the app, but I can't see any way to remove it from any of the settings mentioned in the email 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't use them either, but still got the email.

That's cool, I'll give it a try, thanks :)

Can anyone tell me how can I flatten a Minecraft heart please? I've put this together:

https://www.instructables.com/MineCraft-Heart-wood/

but I've noticed that it bows slightly. I've managed to get the ends to raise slightly when I've screwed it together. The top needs to be smoothed too, as there are some small differences between the pieces. Both sides are only off by a millimetre or two, but it's enough to be noticeable.

My thinking is to clamp it down at the centre, which seems to be mostly flat on both sides, then sand the top until it's level, then flip it over and clamp the edges to smooth the bottom.

Are there any likely problems with doing it this way, or is there a better way of doing it? Thanks in advance :)

Oh bother! (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I made a quick and dirty zero clearance plate to cut some small pieces, but realised that I needed to cut a larger piece of MDF while I was working. Ok, I thought, the saw is already set up, it won't take a minute.

Then promptly cut the zero clearance board in half...

Went out on a rare clear night to a wetlands near me to take some photos of the stars. As it was so dark, and the stars are so small, I had to rely on the focus peaking function of my camera to tell if the stars were in focus or not.

I've got home and started to process the photos, and I've found out that despite the camera telling me that they were in focus, they clearly weren't.

Hey ho, what's a wasted few hours in the freezing cold between friends...
