At risk of a fatphobia struggle session, there are legitimate lifestyle and health reasons that one might want to lose weight. It's a crime that these drugs are being price gouged.

I've read that maintaining weight loss after stopping the drugs can be a challenge, but it does let you skip over the part where you feel hungry the entire time you're losing weight.

The bottom line for me is that these drugs are a rare weapon against the weaponized junk food we are inundated with every time we go to the grocery store.

Just as a thought experiment, taking care of an aging population boom in a contracting economy seems like a significant challenge. A planned economy would have more tools to deal with that, but it isn't trivial or unique to capital. You're going to need to spend a lot of resources on caregiving, medical services, housing, not to mention that your food production and manufacturing is gonna have to be really efficient because your non-caregiving labor force will be smaller than otherwise.

I'm sure some countries have done that well, I just don't know enough to know which ones and how they did it.

China is an example of a massively expanding economy and expanding population in which they took steps to slow down like one child policy, which seems on the whole to have sidestepped the problem. China's population seems ready to decline now so it will be interesting to see how that goes and what they come up with.

Maybe you divide that by half just because of labor constraints, lack of proper industrial ewuipment, and no economy of scale.

What would that wheat field grow, like two loaves of bread?

Quick maffs, 1 acre can produce 2.3 tons of wheat per growing year. The image looks like about one-sixteenth of the acre is dedicated to grain. That divides out to 140 kg of wheat per year. Maybe you lose 10% of the mass from suboptimal grinding to flour, that's 126 kg of flour per year. 400g of flour per loaf of bread means you could make 315 loaves from 1/16 of a square acre.

Grok can access the internet, yes. I don't know what its criteria is for deciding what is accurate/reliable information or if it even has any.

The premise is extremely funny, but yeah no idea why Steam suddenly thinks I want to play F2P gacha games? The only thing I've played remotely like that on the platform is Magic Arena. It asks me if I want to play FIFA and NBA 2K every year and obviously I don't want any part of that trash heap.

butt stuff, sex, vaginasRan out of lube and I got what looked like the pharmacy's generic water based astroglide. Little did I know that it was pH matched for vaginal use. And it stings when used in my butt. Ugh. Also, it is my understanding that you don't need to micromanage your uteris' pH or clean it other than in very rare cases (like something actively harmful is in there). Which makes this bespoke vagina lube even more strange. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised when pharmacies put quackery like homeopathics in the medicine section.

So funny story about my Citizen Sleeper playthrough, spoilers for the first few hours ahead:

spoilerI thought you could block the tracking on you before the bounty hunter arrives, and when I failed to do so by what seemed to be one in-game hour I was so mad I stopped playing. I eventually went back and I have actually platinumed the game. It's pretty cool how you can take the early endings and then keep on playing for alternate ones.

+1 to recommend Sable, especially for free! Basically it's like if breath of the wild didn't have combat and instead was about exploration and quests. You play as a young adult going on a coming of age quest in which you learn about the different professions you could choose. Set in a post apocalyptic world, but a wholesome one. You get to ride on an upgradable Star Wars pod racer.

Free on Epic, $8.74 on Steam.

Cavern of Dreams, $5.19 - Short and sweet collectathon 3d platformer. I finished it in 8 hours and it doesn't overstay its welcome. N64 visual style (you can disable the blur filter in settings if you hate it).

Death's Door, $5 - Cute soulslike combat in an overhead isometric view, not too difficult. You play as a crow, a reaper of souls, tracking down the one soul who escaped from you. You may have to lower settings depending on how bad your gpu is.

Paradise Killer, $5 - A detective game in a world of (sexy) Gods. You have to identify suspects and build a case against them. There is no objectively "correct" culprit. There is also a beautiful 3d environment to explore with some collectables.

Tunic, $15 - Similar combat to death's door but with the added element that progression is often gated not by items, but knowledge checks. You collect pages of a game manual for Tunic written in a language you can't read. One of my absolute favorite games.

Sea of Stars, $22.74 - Very fun turn-based rpg that reminds me a lot of Chrono Trigger. I had 45 hours playtime and that's before the 10 hour free DLC that just released. Timed QTE events for every attack and block a la the (Paper) Mario RPG series.

Rollerdrome, $7.50 - Rollerdrome is the perfect video game. Arcadey shooter on rollerskates with dodge rolls and also you have to do tony hawk style tricks to reload your guns. Unfortunately, Take Two "laid off" the entire team who made it, so consider pirating it instead of buying.

He doesn't even need more money, just scrape off like 0.05% of the NYPD budget (no, I don't know if mayors are allowed to do that, probably not but my point is he doesn't need new revenue, just to redirect it).

This is a zine made by workers in the coffee industry, be that baristas, shop owners, distributors, growers, etc.

The zine content includes: Poetry, photography, painting, articles, short stories, illustrations, drawings, collage, ceramics, dance/music/spoken word via YouTube link or SoundCloud (those last ones are less common).

There are lots of bundles and single print issues for as low as $5 to $8 per issue! I'm a subscriber and I pay $60 per year for three issues per year, so it's much cheaper than usual in this sale.
