Maybe I’m an optimist, but I think it’s still too early for anyone else (especially Vance, who is not nearly charismatic enough) to hold onto power as a successor in a non democratic way. Could definitely see the story being different after 4 years, though.

If you’re ever here and want to see pueo, go to Waimea towards Mauna Kea in the late afternoon/early evening. They are usually very active in the fields then. That is not a touristy area, so be sure to pull off the road (sticking to paved roads in your rental car) and not inconvenience locals
