Apple user here: Shortcuts.

Being able to design lil applettes that take a click or two out of doing a task is a lifesaver.

For instance, going into the clock app and setting a timer is at least a 9-step process (starting from unlocking your device). I made a shortcut to make it a 5-step process.

When I’m trying to hold something in short term memory (especially during a conversation), it’s a struggle

So creepy

I had GPT 3.5 break down 6x 45-minute verbatim interviews into bulleted summaries and it did great. I even asked it to anonymize people’s names and it did that too. I did re-read the summaries to make sure no duplicate info or hallucinations existed and it only needed a couple of corrections.

Beats manually summarizing that info myself.

Maybe their prompt sucks?

Came here to say this.

It’s jarring when I stumble into conventional social media and have Joe Rogan and Hawk Tuah Girl on every other video. Money shouldn’t decide which content appears most often.

That’s a cool thought.

Same with Julius Caesar, Nebuchadnezzar, Christopher Columbus, Henry VIII, Copernicus, Napoleon, Alexander the Great, Ptolemy.

Really anybody famous could have their image embellished back before the widespread ability to read and write. (Some folks listed above may not have lived in a time of illiteracy, but it was hard to think of a list of historical characters lol.)

Holy crap that was awesome

In dating or marriage: If a female partner criticizes on her male’s choice of outfit, it’s totally normal. If a male criticizes the choice of outfit of his female partner… a fight is imminent.

Thank you for linking to the vid!

Sounds like he was just being an asshole and wanting to end the interview which the reported kept extending with questions. Seems like this is non-news.

Don’t you think he looks a bit tired?

So, I don’t have an answer, but I think the challenge you’ll face is that the oil you apply nearby will want to penetrate the wood and spread to the area that will be glued.

You could try pre-treating the area where the glue will go with another absorbent coat (maybe even mineral spirits would work) and hope that the oil wont have any purchase to hold onto in that area. Once the mineral spirits evaporate, you’ll be able to apply your glue.

That’s the best guess I’ve got. Best of luck!

Table saw to get straight sides. Belt sander to get a curve to the blade tip.

The spine doesn’t have a curve like a traditional bokken, but that doesn’t keep me from tucking this bad boy into my belt loop and walking around the house like a samurai :)

Error message when trying to view an Instagram post sent from a friend: “If this page is not displaying as expected, you can reduce advanced privacy protections which may resolve issues”.

No, I don’t think I will.
