Gonna start using "season 8" as a euphemism for a particularly bad shit now. "Brb, gotta produce season 8..."

Maybe you can open 'er if you're a gentleman.

Yeah, that seems to be the conclusion I reached. I think the singular they and the plural they was messing with me hah.

Between drag and the person talking in thorns, lemmy has been fun to read lately. Y'all ain't hurting anyone, anyone has a problem with it they can just mute and move on.

Legit question that my comment made me think of, though - what are drag's feelings on pronouns like "y'all" - see also "you guys" etc?

Edit: mulling it over, I think "y'all" only felt initially weird to me because I was equating it to "they", but "they" has two uses - one to refer to a single person without gendering, and one to refer to a group of many people. "Y'all" in this case would be the equivalent of the second, not really the first.

Idk, language is hard, just fuckin get along.

Security is, and always has been, a matter of making your shit harder and take longer to break. Any security is penetrable, given enough time and willpower, just make sure it takes longer than it's worth.

If there are an infinite number of trials (either infinite monkeys or infinite time), the outcome is truly random, and the desired text is finite, it must necessarily happen at some point. In fact, it'd happen an infinite number of times.

The original thought experiment clearly states infinite. As soon as you bound that in any way (such as not infinite monkeys, but 1 monkey for every atom in the universe) you're talking about another experiment entirely. Infinite means infinite, not really really big. Gotta use some critical thinking 👍

After enough doses, you build up an immunity. I learned it from the princess Bride.

Like pulling a tooth.

It also provides a raised grip for removing, but they could do both of those without THAT shape. Even rotating the hole 90 degrees would make it a little better on the key ring and still keep those marginal benefits.

Hey folks.

I've tried to get a filter working for all of the "this is an automated archive" posts from reddit. They're pretty useless to me, as there's very rarely any engagement, and they tend to show up en masse when a community decides to just mass archive from reddit.

I've attempted to set up a keyword filter with "automated" "automated archive" and "this is an automated archive" but with no success. I assume the keyword filters are only looking at the title text, not the description. Is setting a filter like this possible at present time?

Hey folks. Got a pixel 7 pro, and it's been alright, except suddenly, if I press the fingerprint sensor on the lock screen for just a split second, it makes the WHOLE SCREEN go full-brightness, with a green tinge. I know it's always lit up the scanner area, which is all it lights up if I hold the sensor, but if I release it early it's actually very uncomfortable. Any suggestions besides the obvious "don't let go 5head"? Is this an android version bug, a hardware issue? Anyone else had this happen?
