Sing it! I read a lot—webcomics, manga, ebooks, video game text boxes, subtitles, internet content in general. Just not _ printed physical books_ which seems to be 90% of people’s definition of reading.

the pokémon red/blue soundtracks are some of the finest music ever created. gold and silver as well.

I don’t read much for entertainment. Never have. The focus on “reading is super important” is honestly pretty stupid in my opinion. 99% of the shit people are reading is probably trashier than any other form of entertainment but people act like its a mark of a superior intellect because they are flipping through pages of a book.

I also find the physical act of reading a book to be incredibly distracting from consuming the information therein. I read much more efficiently and enjoyably using digital platforms than I ever did with printed media. I’m in my mid 30’s and probably an outlier for my age group in regards to how I feel about books.

Its just another form of entertainment, should not be put on a pedestal, and is really just as valid (or invalid) as any other form of entertainment—if you don’t find yourself drawn to it then don’t beat yourself up about it. No one is going around belittling people for not watching enough movies during a given annum; why treat reading a book like it’s some great and noble act?

At least your parents are supportive.

Every time id share some creation of mine in my late teens and early 20s with my mom, I’d just hear a random smattering of reports on shit her “friends” (vague acquaintances) had done with no acknowledgement of what I had created.

At least the skills I picked up over the years landed me a job where the things I make are objectively crap and everyone who I don’t really care about sings my praises.

This is the end result of no one actually understanding the notion of “practice makes perfect” and probably some other shit that kids are internalizing these days that I am not privy to.

It’s also really helpful to read again.

No one is perfect, people just get good at stuff by doing it a lot (and can also get worse if they stop doing it). So many friends of mine are always talking about doing creative stuff and how hard it is and yet they never actually just take the first step to try anything.

just make a new PC if you want to and have the money—hardware is always going to be new and better and cheaper. If you're sitting here 10 years from now and are patting yourself on the back that you got an out of date component for a little cheaper than it was when it was new, uh… what’s the point?

You can always chase the build fairy or just pull the trigger and make a pc—regardless it will be outdated the second you boot it up.

If she does nothing else, this alone will make for a successful presidency.

this is bonkers (hadnt heard of it before) and honestly pretty funny considering that every time “god” in the western sense is used in anime the entity or entities are more often than not villainous monsters.

How about getting one single third party candidate elected to a city council, as a mayor, as a judge, a state legislator, to congress? You know, positions that can actually affect change, instead of wasting your vote and time on doomed bids for the presidency.

if you think about it Automata came out before but there is times it happened after. Near Reptile came out after btu is is it really that It came Before Never Automobile?

if you take into account how the earth is moving all the time then the water isn’t actually going anywhere, its all just stationary while the earth moves every object around the water as necessary.

would that mean original star war is closer than we even knew it if real???

Pretty much in the title, the only time I interact with the windows key in its standard operating condition is getting pissed off that the start menu opened. I use it in other capacities such as taking screen shots and other key commands but I got to wondering if anyone, ever actually uses it to access the start menu.

Also if anyone comes here and posts “dOnT uSe wINdoWs,” you really are cute.

Edit: I am more curious if anyone actually gets utility out of its default behavior (opening the start menu). I am aware that it is used in a number of key commands (although some are new to me).

That show was already great and season 2 delivered and then some. Sure at points it feels kinda star wars-y but you can tell the creators really love Star Trek. The fact it was so unceremoniously cancelled then dumped really shows how out of touch studio executives are with the IP’s they own. Especially considering how god awful the final season of Discovery was (l mostly liked that show but Season 5 really leaned into every weak point of the series and jacked it up to 11).

Anyway, I am annoyed we’ll likely never get a 3rd season of Prodigy—and even if we do it likely will lose the lightning they caught with the first two seasons. If y’all have been sleeping on it, please check it out.

You can’t have a shower thought outside a shower so how can it be that thoughts in a shower are outside in the shower?

Bear with me, if you have a shower thought outside is it in a shower if you’re showering?

Don’t got not other social to complain on so here I am: I really am hating the on-foot radio. I honestly find most of the radio music in the game to be kinda annoying and I’m really annoyed that I have to manually turn it off now every single time I exit a vehicle. I like it when driving, I like it when its on a physical diegetic source in the game (like when there’s a radio turned on on a table in a scav den) but now having to just have the radio all or nothing is honestly just annoying. I wish they had implemented a way to toggle this option in the game settings (if there is and I haven’t found it PLEASE let me know).

anyone else feeling this way? I am honestly kinda confused that this was an addition. I’d think car customization was a bigger community ask than “having a constant stream of generally annoying music” was big on the list.

Why would the devs do this to V?
