Van Orden is an ass. In college, as part of Student Senate we visited every representative from our college's general region to lobby for more college system funding. I happened to be working at a bank in his district and was the only person in our group with any actual ties to his district. I tried really hard to tie my talking points to his district and to his farming background (he even had a picture of his family farm in his office) and made sure to mention how I married into a farming family. He ignored everything any of us had to say, except he would happily interrupt whoever was talking to talk to the pretty nursing student who had a habit of pretending to be unaware when people are flirting with her.

Van Orden was the only representative we met (and between the regular meet and greets and our lobbying we met most of the state's elected representatives) who refused to give us the time of day and didn't at least pretend to be interested in what any of us had to say.

So many do nothing pieces of shit on our legislature here who just collect a paycheck and stall any sort of forward thinking legislation. They're the real welfare queens, fucking hypocrite assholes.

And they deserve to die a painful death as soon as possible. No other way to progress as a species but to weed out the evil and greedy cunts

If they are still on Twitter, they are a Nazi. Don’t be surprised that they want immigrants dead and kids starving.

Keep talking fuckers, it only moves your names higher on the list when the time comes. They will get their desserts.

lol I love this—but the phrase is actually “just deserts”

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well, actually, it's "just desserts".

[–] [email protected] 0 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Nope. It’s pronounced “desserts” but actually it’s an old phrase and is spelled “deserts.”

Huh, well I was confidently incorrect. TIL.

Yeah I only learned that pretty recently myself. I was very excited to get to share that useless bit of trivia when I saw the comment lol

The fastest way to get the right answer is to be wrong on the internet. - Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln never said that!

It was Napoleon.

Maybe you should do something instead of just moving names on an imaginary list.

No point in self incriminating in this space.

The cake isn't a lie?

Put on a billboard in his district?

These same types will decry they are being persecuted when someone does them a disservice. More so if its intentional.

The tweet has been deleted. Van Orden’s office told me he meant to reply to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's tweet saying "VICTORY!"

It doesn't matter whether it was a mistake or not. Republicans did something abhorrent, and this guy is on their team.

It's extremely telling that even Republicans don't want to be associated with what they've done. So, even they know that they've done something wrong.

If you really believed Republican actions were the best for America, you would be saying "YES!" to that tweet. You'd be bragging about it. But you can't brag about it because you know it's inhumane and evil.
