I stopped watching after this but later decided to take a nap with the Seeder show on and he played more of it and HOLY HECK did he REALLY draw a line from "jews will not replace us" to "stop doing a genocide"???
He was more likable (or at least, much less detestable) when he was pretending to be a conservative to lampoon them
When he actually pulled off that mask, he became far less tolerable
IMO it was when he took the job at The Late Show. He fully became part of the establishment media at that point. Wasn't allowed to be as "edgy" any more. I guess whatever morals or values he had were malleable at best.
Let's not kid ourselves, it was over the course of the success of the Colbert Report, especially under Obama, where he oriented more and more toward flattering the Democratic establishment and cultivating celebrity connections. The Late Show is just the completed metamorphosis.

I hate Colbert, but it's a normal thing in these talk shows for interviews to be edited down regardless. His point of emphasis that the show will post the interview unedited is, in itself, a good thing, though it's possible it will be edited along Hasbara lines.
