My bad
Paradox have too many grand strategies. They need to make just one game that spans from 6000BC to 2500AD.
Im a big fan of the purge the galaxy of xeno scum so my cute aliens can convert everyone to food as was ordained by dear leader. Long live the empire, least till the late game crisis unless you become the crisis.
Also planet crackers, the right way to create a neutral zone and mineral source.
I don't think it is feasible to build one without a massive scope creeping. The grand strategies have very different focuses depending on the era.
Paradox's historical grand strategies are too complex for my feeble mind so if they make one dumbed down with less mechanics to be compatible with more time periods that would be fine for me.
It's making me feel old in that he's referred to as great Grampa and not just Grampa.
I'm almost 50 and none of my grandparents had turned 20 when the war ended. So if this makes you feel old, you are, in fact, old.
I'm not even 40 yet and my grandparents were in their 30s when the war ended. My parents had me when I was about my age now and similar for my grandparents for my parents.
Yeah, that makes sense then. But that's older than average.
It wasn't until after they all dies that I realised that all the model Spitfires and things my granddad had weren't from his memories of fighting in WW2. He was in school during WW2. He just liked model planes.
I'm pretty sure my kids will one day ask me "dad, what were the 70s like?" and it'll dawn on me that my enthusiasm with 1970s progrock has depicted me as being far older than I am
He should be sitting further back, that’s just bad for your neck and can give you eye strain
Wow, this POV: meme is actually POV.
All this Argentina nazi thing feels like a psi op from the americans to distract from the fact they took in much more nazis and incorporated them into government. (Non argentinian btw).
See that an raise you: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip
Yes, I'm aware. That doesn't mean it was some sort of American secret operation to put Mengele in Argentina as a distraction. He escaped there, as did other Nazis. Hence the "Argentina Nazi thing" as you put it.
Not entirely. The concept of Germans escaping to Argentina is real, ranking party members and leaders would hide with the help of the Catholic church and make their way to neutral Spain, then take a boat to Argentina which accepted Germans and their ideals plus helped them attain new identities and jobs in the country. Mossad hunted down and assassinated many high ranking Nazis in Argentina and Spain. Operation Paperclip specifically only took German scientists, and the Russians did the same. If you could not be taken under Paperclip, you went to Argentina.
Yeah I think it was called Operation Paperclip Garden or something like that, Axis scientists got snatched up by the Yanks and Reds and got to continue sciencing, I think one of them uploaded his brain into a couple hundred kilometers of storage tape
Thanks, now I can understand. I wouldn't know about US demographics, but stil... I've lived in Argentina for 95% of my life and never heard this thing until I emigrated to the EU. Truly, I can hardly think we have more Germans than the rest of latinoamerica... We ~~do~~did have lots of europeans that came in between, and around, both world wars. The majority are from Spain and Italy.
Argentina has the highest percentage of people of German ancestry in Latin America, and people of German ancestry are actually the fifth largest ethnic group in the country.
You nailed it though, Germans and other Europeans have always emigrated to Argentinia, it's one of the reasons about a thousand officers of the German high command escaped there post ww2.
But as other have noted in the thread, plenty of Nazis made their way into a normal, very comfortable life in the countries that made up the allies. Not like Argentina was special, the country just already had a decent German population already.
Es ist egal. Scheißdrauf, wir haben auf dem Mond gelandet. 😘
