So far voyager is working for me, but the UI leaves a lot desired. The reply icon looks like a share icon.
I normally just use Jerboa but I've been trying Raccoon recently and it's been really good. It's definitely still beta and some formatting doesn't work but each update has made it significantly better so it's definitely worth checking out because the UI is the best of any of the apps I've tried imo
I used to only use Sync coming from reddit. No other app was able to replace it until I started using Summit. Now Summit is pretty much all I use for Lemmy.
What's better about Summit?
I wouldn't say anything specifically better or worse compared to sync but it's close enough, feature wise, that I found myself using it more and there's no ads.
I'm using Jerboa but wasn't aware of any issues with the devs. As far as I know the app works great. Can you go into that a little more or point somewhere to read about it?
Jerboa is by dessalines, the same dev as Lemmy and the owner of lemmy.ml so it's basically just all of the drama inherited from that.
The websites all work perfectly fine.
So far I tried voyager, eternity, liftoff and Jerboa. Liftoff wasn't usable and eternity and voyager weren't exactly my type of UI. I stick with jerboa. I really like the simplicity and how clean and intuitive it is. Only thing lacking is the ability to create communities.
Only thing lacking is the ability to create communities.
Seems weird that it's not implemented. I guess they assume you're not supposed to create communities every day.
Yeah, but I would really like that swing implemented.
try connect
I've tried Jeroba, Thunder, Voyager, Sync, Boost, LiftOff, and Connect.
So far, my favorite is Connect.
Connect for me too
Eternity received an update fairly recently
After Raccon4Lemmy dies. [email protected] is best for me. It's closed source though but it doesn't show any ads unlike some other popular Lemmy apps.
Thunder 100%. Super active dev community, constant releases, and if there's something that does cause a problem, post it as an issue and it typically gets resolved quickly.
Eternity on tablet, Voyager on phone. Both great
Eternity got a big update just a week ago
Not seeing it on f-droid yet.
The dev just submitted another build today
Was on Voyager until it updated past my old OS. Current version of Voyager no longer supports my old 6S Plus.
So now I’m on Thunder. It works. I liked Voyager better, but I won’t complain about an app that still works on my phone.
I've tried Boost, Connect, Eternity, Jerboa, Liftoff, Summit, Sync, Thunder, and Voyager.
My favourites are Eternity and Thunder. Eternity is the only app I've found with "swipe between posts" navigation. Thunder has the best remote instance link handling, and its tools for inserting usernames and community names are better than even the Lemmy web UI.
I'm made Quiblr. Lot's of cool features (For You feed, different post formats, etc.). Plus I tried to make the UI clean and intuitive.
Just a web client right now. If there's enough demand, I'll make a native version.
Lmk what you think
Still on Eternity because it's still functional for me.
Boost
yea that's the porn one
I really like Connect
I started out with Memmy and was kinda meh about it. Not bad but not great. Then I found Voyager and never looked back. As a paid Apollo refugee, Voyager makes me almost forget that I’m on a different platform from the days of yore.
