Sounds like that sports ball guy has a para social relationship
TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

God is on their side!
I always thought athletes thanking God wasn't humble or endearing in but just arrogant and off-putting.
So much vile and evil shit all over the world, yet he took time out to help you throw a ball around?
GTFO
A great example of uniquely 'Murican arrogance.
I say if your team wins, and they give credit for the win to God, then they should be disqualified for cheating.
If a team uses drugs to win, that's cheating. Why isn't divine intervention?
And why would God care about one team over another? It makes no sense.
I too was watching Star Trek and not the SuperBowl.
Thanks H&I
I was watching the qualifiers for an upcoming Age of Empires tournament set to be the biggest ever tournament by viewership.
Jokes aside, I’ve never understood the idea that God affects sporting events. God gave dominion over the world to humans. We ran the world into the ground and caused all this suffering. Yet, God keeps its promise for us to have free will and build our own world.
But he’ll break that promise to make sure the shitpissers beat the asspullers in the big game. Nope. We’re stuck with the decisions of our fellow human beings. That’s free will on a mass scale.
No, if they're admitting they've cheated, we should believe them.
Any time an athlete says Jesus/God etc helped them win a race, score a point, set a new World Record and so on, they should be banned from mainstream competition for doping.
"Sorry sir, but we believe your world record time was deity assisted"
(Optional) Afterwards, set up a subsection of each sport with "deity doping" permitted, to find out which God is best and who they like the most.
Hey hey hey now, I'll not have you disparaging the asspullers by suggesting the shitpissers could ever beat them!
Literally listened to George Carlin say almost the same exact thing last night on YouTube.
Also, very sombering.
