Conan Exiles lets you hang full dong on PC, I assume you might be able to change the region on your console to get around it, but I don't know for sure.

I actually googled it and found multiple tutorials on how to activate full nudity even if you're in the US. You literally do just change your console's region, for Xbox anyway.

Not true. I played Conan Exiles on both PS4 and PS5 and you can switch on the full nudity just like on PC and go ham on the dong/boob slider. I'm in the EU if that matters

Oh I don't dispute that but my stupidity doesn't tend to be crying about censorship over the fact that you can't dismember bodies after they're already dead. Company decides it wants to adapt to a particular market and people act like their personal vision of a world where you can dismember all the corpses you want was attacked.

Let me give a different perspective. The developers had an original vision of brutality and gore. The developers wanted to expand their game to different platforms. The platform holders said "Compromise on your vision and you can put the game on our platform".

Do you think that's okay?

I don't think the console market is okay for a variety of reasons. This particular issue however, not being able to publish whatever the fuck you want under someone else's brand, is very much not high on them. The other reasons, the anticompetitive nature of the industry, is what makes it a problem. Most certainly not someone deciding they don't want their product marketed with fucking around with corpses.

And relieving the developers of the agency of their own vision is specious. They made a decision. Obviously this new direction is within what they're trying to deliver or they wouldn't be doing it. The most salient point here is that the amount of changes they seem to be making are negligible. Dismemberment of living people fine, dismemberment of corpses gone. They claim they've preserved their vision through limited changes. Everybody else is playing like the loss of that is a fundamental betrayal. It's fucking ridiculous.

Well, apparently that has changed now that console money is on the table. They're completely disregarding what they stood for before and are trudging ahead with compromising their vision of the game.

There are two point I'm going to make. First is that I think it's something the developer shouldn't have to decide in the first place. They wanted to make a game with gruesome scenes and that's the game they made. The only reason they're making it less gruesome is because they want their game to reach a wider audience which is why they're porting to console but they can't release their game on console because consoles are a locked down platform and the platform owners are exerting power they shouldn't have to force the developers to compromise on their vision. It's absolute bullshit that Sony/MS get a say in how a game should be made.

The second point is that the developers did have to decide this, so it should be obvious why consumers are annoyed. They bought the product when it had one vision, and now the vision they were presented with is getting altered for reasons not at all related to their experience of the game and they're not even given an option to retain the previous vision. Imagine if your favorite game was changed for some completely bullshit reason? Would you not get pissed?

Never got anything for funding development but a slap in the face, still have to pay for the DLC, good to see the devs are doing well
