Came here to say this; how many politicians they find agreeable were committing SV in their past while this guy borrowed a table?
Unfortunately they're morally consistent; the people they're trying to warn aren't bothered with SV because they're the kind of people who either committed it themselves or would have liked to, meanwhile Mamdani's perceived attitude towards private property is of far more immediate concern to them.
"Boys will be boys" is always used to cover up the most heinous crimes, but it's because they don't see women as people. They do however see property as more than human.
