Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

Sabine Wrenn? Healed by a medical bot. At least hers took a while.

If those movies were just a narrative of Kylo Ren's fever dream and when he wakes up he's actually a slave in the spice mines of Kessel and we got a remake of Spartacus in space, I'd be OK with that.

That's amazing, a retcon like that would win me back over to Disney star wars 😂

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Right? I would literally go to a theater to see something like that.

If lightsabers were real you would probably not be able to recover from losing a fight and getting one in you. Not because recovering from a stab is impossible, but if it was a real fighting style they would not go in and out so clean. You're telling me a sith lord would be so gentle coming out and not just go straight up through the face? I understand that that is a little to graphic for star wars but people would look like they'd been through a slap chop after losing to someone like darth maul.

If lightsabers were real they would cause the matter you stab them with to heat so quickly they would explode.

I'm with you on some Sith definitely going HAM and leaving just pieces but I don't think Maul himself would he's more of an assassin

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

That's fair, I don't actually know their specific lores. I still feel like he would at least move up to the heart or something after a stab and give it a shake.

I wanted to dislike this comment but it was shockingly coherent. And correct. Perhaps too coherent and correct, for some.

Probably by the power of many.

Nobody has ever lost the plot more than a Star Wars fan arguing realism. It's like watching a Road Runner cartoon with Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

Quoting Carl Sagon to explain why gravity would kick in before Coyote looked down

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Obviously it's sci-fi but there's only so much disbelief we can suspend

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

~~Sci-fi~~ Space fantasy

Gets reincarnated in the past? Or have you looked into Sol's future and seen death?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It’s called “preincarnation.”

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Fitting for a prequel to the prequels

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Uhh spoilers? I've only seen two eps

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

You know that Acolyte is in the past right?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Quit while you're ahead

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

this isn't a spoiler

Evaporated inside the Death Star's reactor -> Get Somehowed back into existence.

There's no superpower that compares to bad writing.

SOMEHOW HE RETURNED

I held off on watching that movie for the longest time and knew only that meme about it. I thought it was a joke. It was so fucking stupid it felt right at home with zoomer humor.

Justice League wasn't as bad. The first season of Discovery wasn't as bad.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

I'm not mad they used the cloning technology that has been established and even referred to the entire conflict that was literally named after the tech back in 1976 to bring back Palpatine, but that one line is just the encapsulation of "they need people to not have common information" whenever the plot needs it and try to make it a surprise.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Last season of Discovery wasn't that bad either in comparison

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I never made it that far. I made it half way through the first season.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

I couldn't even make it past episode 1. That drivel was actual garbage.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

The 3rd season is actually quite good is you stop watching 3 episodes before the end.

just consider it a show being canceled in a cliff-hanger.
