Tbh I can’t think of any applications for this product that don’t involve porn

Im so confused why this wouldn’t work and I didn’t see anywhere in the article the actual reason. Can anyone explain it better? Can you not just play a vr video file? Is it blocking the sites? I’m just confused.

They'll just monitor everything you watch or do on it and detect anything NSFW.

I wish this was a /s but I can definitely see it happening since they'd have to ban the whole Internet to keep any sites with NSFW content from playing

My understanding is that it allows you to play planar video from a website, but not (yet?) side-loaded videos that are spherical/hemispherical. And the latter is what these people really wanted for this application.

Give the porn industry time.

Isn't allowing the porn industry to be able to use your hardware crucial for widespread adoption? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the fact that Betamax and HDDVD did this was one of the factors for their loss of market share?

According to DVD, yes.

There's an excellent video by technology connections in which he mentions this. Turns out, sort of not true. That said, in the modern day, that 100% is gonna be the case, IMHO. Porn flows like wine anymore, and people aren't going to want to adopt some weird pornless tech.

Porn flows like wine

I find that it doesn't necessarily flow freely, but rather is expelled in short bursts

There are exercises for that, to build up range
