My best strategy for dealing with this is leveraging my inability to deal with having any notifications whatsoever on my phone. Hence my strategy is:
- Anything that can't be completed right away gets added to the task list
- All tasks get assigned a time, at which point a notification with the task appears
- I promised the list I would do it, and I want the notification bar to be clear - this is often enough of a push to get me to remember and do things.
A great aspect of having an ongoing checklist that you actually respect is that things written down on the list don't have to be actively thought about - this calms my mind.
Bonus:
- If you can't manage to do it, it's fine to push it ahead to a later date, if the task allows for it. Learning to forgive myself has been immensely useful for coping with the everyday struggles
