My kid watches Lego videos on youtube, and the shorts recommended to him are all about Jesus and the devil battling for likes and subs. I supervise, and he doesn't watch them, but I'd rather just not see them at all.

There is a uBlock Origin plugin I use to specifically block shorts

If you're on a desktop in a browser, there's like 100 ways to do it through browser extensions. Just do a bit of research on YouTube extensions that hide shorts.

If on Android, Revanced lets you patch the regular YouTube app and remove basically anything you don't want (including ads).

Firefox has an add-on called Blocktube which has an option to block shorts. I think the add-on is also available on other browsers, and possibly for stuff on mobile devices if that's how you watch.

You can also use Blocktube to filter out keywords, so you can keep watching shorts of Moo Deng, Agu the Seal, and Apollo the Parrot while blocking all that reactionary bullshit.

Not sure what kind of device you're using but I use NewPipe for mobile and Freetube for desktop, believe they both have options to hide features like that.

Smarttube has the option too.

I report those for terrorism whenever I get them and I stopped getting them

That really made me laugh.
