My Eldritch Knight/war wizard stands, unafraid.
In a single round of combat, a wizard can use a spell to rain fire and bring a max health fighter down to 1 hp.
In comparison, in a single round of combat, a fighter can swing their sword four times and bring a max health wizard down to 1 hp.
So they're both as good as each other in a hypothetical 1v1 combat scenario which is unlikely to ever come up during an actual game. Bravo. Can we stop having this argument? It's been 4 months since this exact meme was posted.
No! We must run the scenario in every system first, then compile the distribution of outcomes.
I think you forgot about the bear barb who takes half damage from everything but psychic. Good luck getting them down to 1 hp in 1 round unless you go first.

+repelling blast +agonizing blast. That's what 20 dmg on average at 3 beams per attack and what 30 feet of push?
+Eldritch Spear (or whatever its called, its been a hot minute since i played a warlock) and Spell Sniper feat to keep back those pesky longbow sharpshooters.
