I am curious about how they are going to make dying to the final boss fifty times dramatically interesting

Here's a list of tons of leftist movies.
Probably will be hot garbage but I really hope it’s not a Videogame Movie™️. Like don’t show me Timmothy Chevrolet going “wuh oh guys! I’m out of flasks!” I would also love if the movie had nothing to do with Miquella or the shattering but instead of being a potentially interesting spin off or side story it will almost certainly be a clumsy retelling of the most important historical bits in the game. Or… oh god it could be a story of the player playing the game
Or… oh god it could be a story of the player playing the game
actually would be excited to see this film ONLY if they copy-pasted the plot from Minecraft movie. and if they cast Jack Black n mamoa attempting co-op i'd buy the directors cut dvd or whatever lol
To each their own, but I’m always amazed when people like these big star, big IP, big budget meta movies. It’s an immediate turn off for me when a movie is drenched with the feeling of some executive going “KIDS LIKE THIS, RIGHT? AND THIS TOO, RIGHT??? SMASH THEM TOGETHER AND MAKE IT IMAX!”
well im mostly tongue-in-cheek saying "ill never watch this in a million years" lol.
buuuuut if in an alternate universe it was written as a silly, fun movie (like the recent D&D perhaps) or one that took time to make fun of its grimdark nature and ribbed the souls' fanbase that takes itself far, far too seriously? i would pay good money to watch it.
I see the vision
this summer, zionist Jack Black is in another hollywood movie
This summer... Jack Black is....
John Darksouls
Every follow up post release related to this game gets progressively worse and worse.
Ok? Seems like a struggle to adapt. Also who's ready to see some goofy as hell dodge rolls when they have an actor do it.
If it's just a remake of Civil War, but everyone is dipped in gold leaf, half the soldiers are Really Very Big, the white house is like the Mines of Moria after a jetwash, the president is the size of an oil tanker, and the photographers are actually making magic paintings, it'll be a masterpiece.
Edit: and to step closer to the lathe, the story is told by the descriptions on each Elden Ring themed snack you can get from the concessions. Radahn Rum Punch, Malenia Mint (and blue cheese) popcorn, blah blah blah.
You'll need to read the back of the ticket and the inside of the promotional popcorn bucket to get the full story for this one
Wonder if there's any plan to keep the elden ring brand going, I can't really imagine another game that big being released this decade
Nightreign (a spinoff coop game that's sort of a roguelike) is coming out in like a week, so there's at least that.
Oh yeah I guess they are already doing it. My brain was just fixed on the idea of an elden ring 2 or another single-player thing.
just go read berserk instead
Some people don't care to see SA and loli bait on every other page.
If I remember correctly in the arc with the fairy apostle she is drawn completely naked
That's completely fair. I just want to point out that SA is often treated as a life destroying event in the story. Both Guts and Casca suffer heavily because of that, and when they enter Casca's mind it is shown through representations as the mind destroying thing that it is. Still, the amount of SA depicted in the story is completely unnecessary.
The loli bait thing I legit don't remember, and that was not my impression reading the story. I can comment on Schierke which is a kid and as far as I remember is never, ever, sexualized. At most she develops some kind of crush on Guts that she thinks about sometimes, but that's it.
My criticism of Casca's sexual assault is it was still very male gaze-y. I love Berserk and it has amazing artwork, but I didn't like how stylized the sexual violence towards Casca was.
spoiler
I do think Miura had long-term plans for her character, though. The brain wipe was only going to be a small portion of the story, but he died prematurely just as Casca got her mind back. Right before he died, Miura said the series would end around volume 100. Volume 42 was released posthumously. Casca lost her mind in Volume 14, so it would have been less than 28 volumes where she was mentally incapacitated out of 100.
We'll never get to see the story of Guts and Casca deciding how they want to deal with Griffith or if Griffith will go after them.
Oh I agree 100%. There was always something that felt off on how it was done, but I could never figure out what it was, I think you're spot on. I can't say if that was Miura's intention, but given how he treats the whole thing later in the story, I can give him the benefit of the doubt.
I haven't read the most recent chapter or chapters, but from my understanding, even if the story is now being done by someone else, at least it is Miura's best friend, the only person he confided the story to. If you haven't yet, I recommend to read the short oneshot Kentaro Miura Memorial Manga, where Kouji Mori talks about his life and friendship with Miura, it's absolutely beautiful and gave me confidence he will do his best to honor his wishes and story.
I love the golden age arc, but even I was glad they cut the whole wy*ad thing from the 1997 anime. Good god can you ruin the story elements with fetishes displayed clear as day.
