Greenblatt: "I'm thinking about the New York Times doing a gauzy profile a few weeks ago of this gamer, Hasan Piker, who regularly employs awful genocidal rhetoric against Jewish people and the Jewish State. Extremists should not be empowered. People who spout prejudice should not be platformed. This is a moment when we need to look ourselves in the mirror and say 'We've got to stop this because the consequences are deadly'. "

As soon as I heard about this I knew it was going to be used to crack down on the left.

As soon as I see anything by the ADL, I assume the rest of the sentence is going to be something racist.

I like Hasan now

If something happens to Hasan over this, there will be a zoomer insurgency hitting refineries and munitions warehouses within the week

It's the Haymarket affair all over again. He didn't throw the bomb but he should hang for what he thinks. American justice!

who regularly employs awful genocidal rhetoric against Jewish people and the Jewish State

Further proof that the west is explicitly fascist is that some genocidal bastard can spout this type of fucking nonsense manufacturing consent for violent reprisal for just criticising pissraels genocide. On mainstream media no less, without swift and severe punishment.

It's terrifying, this is actual proof that the west, america in particular, has fully enshrined a fascist superstructure of lies and delusion across civil society, it's all pervasive, it's everywhere, and they use it to warp reality past the point of no return. 2+2 has been 5 for the longest fucking time because hundreds of thousands had to be slaughtered for America to retain a decaying foothold in the Middle East.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 13 hours ago

Pissed off reading that and being able to do nothing about it, what a sick society

[–] [email protected] 27 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

WAIT WAS THE WEST 1984 evul gommulist no freeze peach the entire time!!!!! who could have predicted this.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 13 hours ago

It’s more frustrating by how many continue to believe in the myths of the virtuous west and continue to build parking lots and privatize public programs to emulate them.

Semi unrelated but reading the shooter's Twitter is funny as fuck. He was a poster

The Israeli ambassador is using the embassy staff as human shields. All blame falls solely on the ambassador.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 16 hours ago

Greenblatt looks like the evil version of Ali Abunimah from Electronic Intifada

[–] [email protected] 54 points 16 hours ago

Didn't the Gunman know it's ONLY OK to Shoot BABIES and CHILDREN? OTHERWISE you're ANTI SEMETIC!

[–] [email protected] 88 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

'We've got to stop this because the consequences are deadly'

By 'this' he means the genocide that the shooter expressly stated was the reason for the attack, right? anakin-padme-2

[–] [email protected] 97 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Hasan should make a big drama out of this accusation and take the heat away from PSL. He won't get taken down by this because it's stupid to blame him with absolutely no connection to it but a crackdown on orgs would be genuinely damaging.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Hasan should flee to China then eat the sin

[–] [email protected] 23 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

He’d move to Japan well before he would move to China. Dude’s a weeb

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

How's Japan's extradition policy lookin?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

Japan is close to Turkey in a strange way so....might work out in Hasan's favor given he's a famous Turk and all.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I wouldn’t say Hasan would be popular with Turkish officials necessarily, given his criticism of Turkish nationalism.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 hours ago

they love radlibs in ankara

[–] [email protected] 89 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

This is textbook defamation and slander, Hasan should sue

[–] [email protected] 31 points 16 hours ago

"yeah, we're rebranding. People don't like 'anti' things anymore. I mean, we're keeping the letters, people like the letters, but now we're the Amazingly Defamation League!"

[–] [email protected] 62 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

it's nearly impossible for defamation lawsuits to do anything here even when they're not about state interests

[–] [email protected] 68 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

That generally true due to the ambiguous nature of US libel laws, but Greenblatt literally ticked off all the boxes that can lead you to win a defamation case in the US; false statement, publication to a third party, and the spoken stated intention to harm an individual's reputation

[–] [email protected] 32 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

He could sue and possibly even win but it would be a 5 year lawsuit and his opponents have infinite money. It's a substantial personal sacrifice to go after imperialist goons via the legal system.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 13 hours ago

He's in a good position to make that sacrifice

[–] [email protected] 26 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

I can guarantee there are lawyers willing to do pro-bono work on this. The discovery alone would be worth it

[–] [email protected] 30 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

If I were a hungry, new lawyer and I needed to make a name for myself I'd want to take the case. I'd get the most libel-looking libel case ever and I get a bunch of publicity for winning. Then, because words don't mean anything anymore, ghouls will be popping off all the time. Any time some ghoul says some shit they'd have to be scared of the specter of me. Therefore people would pay me a lot of money to do libel cases because I know how to win and win bigly.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 hours ago

well get on it kid. go go! picard-excited

[–] [email protected] 14 points 15 hours ago

Maybe. It will be years and years of time. That's a big layout to do pro bono.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

It won't matter

This damned state picked it's side in this genocide many years ago

Even just boycotting Israeli items is a crime in most states. We're past the point where factual information makes a difference
