Yes, that's totally the only reason I'm doing it 😁

I've been noticing a crow hanging out in my yard recently. I tried to offer shinies. I've cawed at him. I'll try peanuts.

My dogs probably keep him from getting comfortable.

I don’t want to dissuade you from cawing, especially if you enjoy it, but you don’t NEED to caw to make friends with a crow, just make an identifiable noise when you offer them treats to associate with you

Your so kind; I was just being goofy. Though, if did work and I got a caw back, it would made my day. Probably my month at least.

But this is cool! Gotta pick my noise! I'm about to shoot some hoops without the dogs out there.

E: a distinctive whistle, yeah?

Despite my previous comment… I’m not actually an expert 😁but that is my understanding - a distinctive whistle should work ! You’d want something that’s easy for you to do to repeatedly, on command when you see your crow buddies

Aw man I was already debating whether unilemmy was an insult or compliment.

I'm any case, if I infact succeed I will post

Ah are you trying to make a crow friend? I’ve seen videos of them feeling comfortable enough to eat out of people’s hands. So cool

Yes! I was actually aiming for the magpie whose chittering I heard around the area (technically a corvid as well), so this rook coming around was a nice surprise. I'm looking forward to see if it'll turn up again 😊
