Movie review. Holmes and Watson with Will ferral.

I am embarrassed to say I just could not finish this movie, it just didn't work for me.

The sets were beautiful, the costuming lovely. The jokes were passe, too many riffs off the series Sherlock with Cumberbatch. Too many jokes just too rude or not even funny.

Maybe it could have been edited better. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ 2 hobbits.

I enjoy that it has a 3.9/10 rating on imdb. I'm not a Will Ferral fan and seeing his name puts me off a movie. I acknowledge I may have missed some hits (okay, I've seen Elf), but worth it for me.

I think I managed 20 minutes of it before turning it off. And I can generally deal with Ferrell, even at his crappiest.

This was next level scheisse

I enjoy all of the Doom games but, additionally, some of the music is awesome industrial metal type of genre.

A most notable composer is Mick Gordon from Queensland. His work on Doom: Eternal is a great heavy rhythmic and metallic type of soundscape perfectly suited to the game.

of course I will eventually buy the new iteration but unfortunately I think it’s a different composer this time.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

Ah yes, the thirteenth Marvel movie released in the time between Doom Eternal and Doom: The Dark Ages ;)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

ur kidding? thought Eternal wasnt that long ago, and marvel slowed the release schedule a fair bit!

Having a professional mycologist play Guess The Mushroom in court is hilarious.

Adding in: I get that it's hard to tell the difference between mushrooms for mere mortals... but that still doesn't explain how the poisonous mushrooms were only found in the dehydrator and the four victims?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

acording to the latest season of Clarksons farm they are basically space penises? So is a mycologist just an expert in space wangs?

You'd want that on a business card, hey?!

I really don't understand people's obsession with using Teams / Zoom / whatever for one-on-one short meetings that are perfectly suitable for a phone call. I get it if there's more than one person involved in the meeting, or it's going to be a detailed meeting. Then I feel awkward if I leave my camera off when the other person joins with it on (and 95% of the time, it's on).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Because it's easier?

I use teams all day and everyone is on it. So why not use it to make a voice call?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

It wasn't a voice call through Teams. When clients ask to use it, it's because they want to see you on video. And that's exactly what happened.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ahhh my apologies. That is super fucking annoying.

I don't have a Web cam on my pc. There's no need to see me. I use nvidia broadcast to filter my mic too so I avoid my phone or laptops with Web cams in them.

some people like to use the most advanced tech available, they think most advanced latest means best for the purpose

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

is it just me, or are the worst meetings now including a welcome to country? my office seemingly only does a welcome to country when the meeting is gonna drag on.

should be once a week, every monday morning

or people will get sick of it and it will lose all meaning

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

I live in fear of us actually doing a proper one cause I think I'd just have this disgusted look on my face that in no way relates to any cultural disrespect but more "Oh god not another meeting thats gonna suck the will to live outta me!"
