I've been enjoying the shit out of Headliners, which feels like a game that kinda emerged from a pile of unreal assets they found at the bottom of a box of VHS tapes at a flea market.

You must post before you leave
Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.
Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.
Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".
Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
ConcernedApe 🥰
Manor Lords doesn't fit.
Indie technology: Either Godot, some other smaller open source engine, or some heavily specialized open source solution that can only do a few kinds of games but has a small footprint.
Or sometimes just fully built from the ground up. It’s getting less common, but a few notable examples I know of are Minecraft, FTL (and I think Into the Breach), and Rollercoaster Tycoon is a whole story worth looking up.
The second ugliest assets you've ever seen inside the unreal engine with motion blur
Don't forget DLSS ghosting artifacts!
Okay I gotta ask since I've seen it a bunch recently but when did transgender as a noun become accepted. It's an adjective. I've seen trans people be called a Trans multiple times recently and it never got challenged but it always feels icky to me. I'm a transgender woman or a trans woman for short. If you want to shorten it further you may call me a woman but not a trans
I try to avoid using nouns in general for folks (because it's hard to tell through online/voice calls and I end up forgetting due to bad brain), so I end up just using they/them, you, or something more abstract (gamers, pals, friendos) to refer to people.
While I haven't engaged in using trans as a noun, I'd imagine others would for simplicity's sake, at least in their mind.
I think the usage there isn't meant to be correct, but incorrect as a joke. It's like how I've seen people call themselves a tran. (Trans is obviously plural.)
they do be enallage sometimes!
I'm drunk, but "Team Size: 7 Europeans" for AA is killing me.
I'm sober and it holds up
Payed to play a game? Sounds like they shanghaied them?
Past tense of pay is paid. Payed is a ship.
seven europeans my beloved, thank you for factorio
The dev is a massive bigot :(
Since you include AA you should've included AAAA games too
CR2032 games would be nice too
Future Prospects:
- Bankrupt or bought out by AAA within a year
- Makes 2 more great releases, then see previous
- Makes 5 formulaic releases with a team size that halves each iteration, or engages actively in 1-year contracts or hire-and-dump schemes
Also could be (applies to indie and AA):
- Updates games constantly to the present day due to low operating costs/no shareholders
- Open source in 5-10 years
- Old games live off modding support, new games are all dead within a year, then repeat cycle
- Steam Sale food for curious gamers, nothing else
The bottom 2 apply to AAA games
Sometimes indies do very well, after which they don’t release anything new for at least 5 years.
Did you mean: Toby Fox?
That's a good thing - helps keep the quality level up, and leaves room for other indies.
Like the Balatro guy, out there living the dream. Made one great game and got filthy rich and I couldn't be happier for him.
The real magic starts when you assemble 7 beautiful european transgenders but the world is not ready for this probably
laika: aged through blood
Bonus points if they name it "Woke Mind Virus" and it turns the Windows computers gay
"turns the Windows computers gay" also known as installing Linux
All other games would pale in comparison to this hypothetical game
African... Eurasian... American... Oceanian...
Long ago, the four transgenders lived together in harmony.
1984 is just Avatar, but the fire nation genocided one and all turned into fire nations.
