Why didn't Pakistan and India work together to bring the perpetrators to justice?

Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

India wasn't interested in an investigation. Saw an opportunity for a populist 'Pakistan evil' moment and jumped on it.
Pakistan instantly offered a joint investigation and the option to bring in third part investigators.
The perpetrators roam free even still. Happy that they managed to get exactly what they wanted.
Thanks for mentioning this. Do you have any sources to back up this information?
Interesting. And when the Chinese offered to do a joint investigation to figure out why their engineers keep getting popped in Balochistan/gwadar then what was Pakistan's response
I barely know anything about the conflict, but this comment section is wild.
Welcome to anything India and Pakistan related ever.
India v Paki coming from behind in global flashpoint race to WW3. Its now neck and neck and neck between:
- India V Paki
- Israel V Palestine/Lebanon/Houthi/Iran
- New Syria V Syria (new)
- China V Taiwan
- China V Philippines
- Ukraine V Russia
- US V Houthis/Iran
- America: The Meme V America: The Dream
Australia V the Emus doesn't even rate anymore.
Did anyone having Pakistan and India going hot on 2025 bingo card?
Anyone who actually has a 'this year' bingo card needs to re-evaluate their life.
On my World War Z card, yes.
I wonder if this will kick-start WW3. I've got my doomsday prep kit ready just in case. It's a camping chair and a bottle of Southern Comfort. I like to try and maintain realistically low expectations.
I hope not I'm out of cola, have to wait until tomorrow for ww3
nah. foreign powers are completely uninterested, so this will remain a local conflict. there's nothing there to forcibly draw other countries in as well
Most of Europes pharmaceutical drugs are sourced from India these days. India is crucial for Russia to launder its oil to circumvent EU sanctions. India is a huge producer of a lot of other things. An all out war would likely also involve a lot of cyber warfare which would affects the large IT outsourced to India and will likely hit a lot of "bystanders". China might use the weakness of India to move up in its border conflict with them...
India and Pakistan represent about 15-20% of the global population. This absolutely has the potential to draw other powers in.
Bro, stay safe.
Thank you. All well here right now.
BLAST OVER MY HEAD. SOMEWHERE NEXT TO MY HOUSE. NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS HEARD IT.
Possibly a drone. Havent seen anything yet.
Edit: broiler blast, not a drone.
Okay am I the only one who thinks this doesn't bode well for democracy in the region? Modi will obviously use this as a chance to consolidate power, and the Pakistani army's political role will likely see a resurgence after years of democratization.
years of democratization.
They literally removed and jailed the last PM on very shaky grounds.
I don't know how legitimate his jailing was, but he (you're talking about Imran Khan right?) was removed by a vote of no confidence, which at least on paper is a perfectly democratic affair. According to Wikipedia,
The Armed Forces has historically played an influential role in the country's politics,[11][12] although it has declined in recent years.
After the resignation of President Pervez Musharraf in 2008, a sharp line has been drawn between the "military establishment" and politics and Pakistan is moving closer to becoming a democracy after general elections in 2013.
They're not a democracy in any sense of the word, but things seem to be improving compared to the army's political heyday.
but things seem to be improving compared to the army's political heyday.
Not really. This cycle keeps repeating. They have a few elections before army exercises control again.
Oh shit.
Pakistan just attacked a 'terrorism training camp' in India.
Pak and Afghanistan are the biggest victims of terrorism. Pakistan has long trained and protected terrorists.
But Pakistan has also long claimed India funds and trains some militants and sends em into pak.
The last attack seems to have targeted one such site. Not good. Not good at all. Although this is still a military site, thr claim of a terrorist training camp is politically charged and won't go over well.
I'm getting bombed soon 😭
