i like your theming. what DE is this?
OpenTTD
The most active unofficial successor to r/OpenTTD!
...which is admittedly not saying much. We do require you to speak english when posting though but only for practicality, as long as you explain in english as well, you may post in any language you wish! It's just going to be easier for everyone that way. See also the german OpenTTD fediverse community for potential threads in german.
Please do not ask where to get NewGRFs, they are easily obtainable via the in-game content downloader (a.k.a "BaNaNaS" or "the fruit store") or TT-Forums and certain authors have expressed they will not allow downloads of graphics that they no longer provide support for by penalty of copyright law. The other side of the coin is otherwise explained in our "rules" thread. Please read the rules thread before posting or do not post.
Sorry, DE?
Desktop environment, it's what makes your bottom panel and window title look like they do, such as KDE or Gnome or Enlightenment, ... and they're also asking which skin/theme you're using.
Ah, of course. I was thinking something about TTD. It is KDE Plasma on KUbuntu. Not sure the theme itself, I have been using it for ages.
Mad respect
It was a fun one. Passengers and mail only, any train can get to any town, all towns connected, 280 trains at the moment and I’m going to keep adding until the system fails.
I pretty much stopped playing OpenTTD once I figured out that doing only air traffic got me more cash than I could spend. Maybe that old version was just broken in that way, I don't know...
I always do trains only. Air, ships and roads is a bit boring.
Very nice! I tried a passenger+mail only game recently, I had everything connected, but each town was just paired with another similarly sized town.
When you say any train can get to any town - how do you decide your trains' orders?
Also - do you have a screenshot of the track layout? Did you just evolve it over time or did you have a big plan from the beginning?
Looks very organised :) thanks for sharing!
It just evolved organically, but the plan was to connect them all. I can create a new train in any depot, then open the station list and give the train orders to random stations in the list (or, for a few trains, all of tje stations). Most of them goes to 20 or so stations. When I start my pc tomorrow I will remember to get some screenshots to post here. (On mobile atm)
Yo I'm impressed. I'm not so good at setting self made goals like that. You should post again when it fails, I'm curious to see how far you get.
Will do!
