I bet it's pretty charming in its own way. I'd love to visit sometime.

Downvoted for speaking the truth as usual, most westerners react poorly to being reminded that they're not immune to propaganda

Capitalism's 'bread and circus' might be the most addictive drug of all, they close their minds off to anything that goes against the narratives because the western audience would rather not think about it and enjoy the fruits of the exploitation. Blissful ignorance and all that

[–] [email protected] 3 points 16 hours ago

Except they've been steadily scaling back both the bread and the circuses for decades now and westerners are generally as willfully ignorant as ever

Says the asshole who's never gonna live there

Yeah after a good bit of my own investigation, they just seem on par with any other poor country. Not something I'm going to worship, but not something I'm going to spend time complaining about either.

Lmao dude who stans for North Korea, honestly? I bet you’re gonna tell me the best party is a juche party, because a juche party is mandatory

To liberals, the DPRK might as well be Mordor. Growing up in the US, there's nothing quite like the insane level of casual dehumanization of Asian people from countries America has occupied or bombed. You take people who can see in real time the absurd lies Israel tells about the people it's exterminating, but they lose the ability to put two and two together when they encounter something that lets them feel smugly superior to the victims of our aerial genocide. We killed 20 percent of them and leveled every single building for the crime of not wanting to be our colony, and then they spent the rest of the century rebuilding themselves from dirt and blood with the entire capitalist world trying to gatekeep them out of modernity. But of course, we never hear about any of that. It's just the same dumbass story we get about everywhere we've fucked over: they hate us because they're jealous, because they're crazy, they hate us for our freedoms, they have an authoritarian cultureus-foreign-policy, they're all brainwashed, trust me bro I heard it on the news.

The same smug, thought-terminating incuriosity is on display in this thread. Look at the level of critical thought my society encourages in it's citizens dawg. Is it any wonder even tiny embargoed socialist countries have managed to do so much with so little, while the richest capitalist hearts of empire can't seem to provide anything for the people living here except ever-expanding horizons of exploitation and despair?

Louder for the people in the back.

Tap for spoilerA liberal friend of mine asked me a question just a week or so ago: "do you really believe China to be more free than France?", and like dawg have you been to China and know how its citizens live or is everything you think you know about it just western propaganda? I haven't so I can't tell you, but I also don't think any European country is the paragon of freedom you think it is.

Yeah, its disgusting, hopefully the tides will turn soon against the west

And who gave you the information that made you think the dprk isn't that bad?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Long and easily verifiable history of western media stories about NK being proven completely wrong+obvious foreign policy motive for lying=dismiss stories until they're proven true

[–] [email protected] 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

But... That's just an argument that you don't know the situation in NK. Not that the situation is anything, good or bad?

If I lie to you where the fire is, it does not mean the fire is cold.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 hours ago

Not knowing would be a good reason to assume nothing, I don't have to believe the fire is cold to doubt that there's a fire at all

It's definitely a very poor country

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Look up the arduous march, and how the US terrorized them during this period.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 20 hours ago

I don't think anyone is arguing the US wasn't responsible for the current state of affairs, but ok
