Some argue that the current rise of fascism Eliβs a direct consequence of the rarefaction of cheap energy sources and of further virgin ecosystems to exploit. (I can provide some sources if anyone is interested).I think that it does make sense, but only time will tell. Not that anything we can put in place now would reverse the tendency.
Climate collapse is a catalyst to everything. the fall into civil war and authoritarianism is part of it. extreme weather, droughts, waterproblems they all have toll on availability of ressources and production at a global level.
