You forgot to mention the sound system hooked up instead of PC speakers and everyone's AIM sounds blasting down the hallway. Good times.

For me, it was a 5.1 surround sound setup localized entirely around my chair.

Our dorms were all block walls, so didn't really matter where the speakers were pointed. If your door was open everyone could hear everything. Was always fun logging into AIM and then hearing 10 doors simultaneously creaking open down the hall 😂

They’re insane to get that much for one of these space heaters.

Then you upgrade that cd drive to a lightscribe one and it's like some sort of black magic

Look at Mr Fancy over here with his Lightscribe discs and not the bulk Dynex discs.

I still have that exact model of Dell sitting in a closet. Was in regular use until around 2014 or so. Even ran Vista on it for a while.

It was not my dorm room PC though, that was an Athlon XP box I put together myself.

Cracked XP install missing crucial DLLs, GatorWallet toolbar on IE 4, but Doom runs great and it cranks out a paper when needed.

What do you mean, missing DLLs? Just download the missing DLLs from dll.com

I remember seeing many a Dell tower with the logo button removed in schools. Apparently collecting them became competitive.

Yes!! Was hard to find a PC with the logo still on it by the time we graduated!
