Right! Itβs very enjoyable even for not techies. I even shared it with my mom because itβs like reddit but only interesting articles

Personally, I think it's great. It's a smaller community than HN and the registration requirements, whilst not a perfect solution, do create a litmus test and ultimately creates an envrionment of mostly high quality posting.
To get in, you need to be invited in by an existing user. If you don't know anybody, you can hang around on their IRC channel and once you're familiar, somebody may be willing to invite you.
Lobsters has blocked the Brave browser since a scam in 2019. We still block it because they lie about following standards so they scrape and sell copies of websites. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but they have previously targeted Lobsters by name and have a years-long pattern of bad behavior.
