WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that he’s joining his wife on a Friday trip to Greenland, suggesting in an online video that global security is at stake.

“We’re going to check out how things are going there,” Vance said in a video shared Tuesday. “Speaking for President Trump, we want to reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland because we think it’s important to protecting the security of the entire world.”

That's so aggressive, but not new. Let's not forget the US is an imperial power who has constantly deposed and invaded other countries.

Hope he has a bad time

Why can't Greenland officials meet them at the airport, detain while going through their social media , and then put them back on the plane and tell them to not come back? I think that would be fair.

I hope they will freeze to death.

Brutally attacked and shredded to pieces by a walrus.

why do I have a feeling they are going to provoke/fake some kind of incident that would "justify" an attempt at US military "intervention"

tinfoils maybe Usha thinks "they'll" kill her in Greenland to start a war between the US and Greenland so she's taking her husband as insurance that won't happen.

Untinfoils most likely she knows they're hated and doesn't want to face the unwantedness/hostility/embarassment of going where she's unwanted.

The only thing Greenland is in danger from, is the US.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

“It’d be a real shame if you were to find yourself in danger, Greenland”

You don't need, that comma.

But I'd like to point out that this isn't a criticism of, your comment. Just, the punctuation. I'm, sorry. And I will now take, my downvotes. See you, tomorrow.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm not offended. I use way more commas than, I should, but, in this case, it was meant to be, a pause for, emphasis, which I thought, was valid.

No down vote from the perpetrator.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Correct punctuation for dramatic pause is … ellipsis.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

But I didn't want the pause that long.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Did you try..two periods instead of three?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

I bet they’re going to get told to turn the plain around.

Seduce him with couches. Danish design is pretty raunchy.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 days ago

I've heard that Greenland crime is very high this time of year. It's when the pre-April Hygge gang trials typically take place with irresponsible snowmobile racing that can be frankly deadly. The Greenlandic government should call the Danish army to provide a 24-7 heavy armed escort to these VIPs. For their own protection. Who knows when a Hygge snowmobile night attack.

Why the fuck are they letting him?

[–] [email protected] 22 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Foreign minister at the gate with a sign reading 'Persona non grate'.

I'm just saying.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

There's no chance in hell Vance knows what that phrase means
