Hi Lemmy! I've just uploaded a new version, and this is the changelog:

  • Mark as read on scroll (Settings-General-Posts). Posts will be marked as read when you scroll past them. Disable Show read posts in your Account Preferences and you won't see those posts again. Note: In Lemmy, voting, saving or reading comments of a post marks the post as read automatically
  • Support for animated webp images
  • Play gifs embedded in comments
  • Show context option when visiting a single comment thread
  • Fix long comment chains being unreadable
  • Bug fixes and improvements

Just happily paid for the ad free version. Since you're doing actual updates and now have read on scroll it's worth it.

Awesome! I've been waiting for Mark read on scroll!

On the topic of webp images, I find I can't share them with other apps that don't support webp, could there be a setting to convert them to PNG or jpg when sharing?

I had the app already open and was switching between posts when I got a notification about the update. When I clicked " Read More " on the small notification at the bottom of the screen, it opened lemmy.world in my browser instead of Boost.

You may need to enable supported links in Android settings

[โ€“] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Looks like there's none defined on v1.0.10. I also updated to check the new app and there's none on v1.0.12.

Screenshot of Android Settings for Lemmy V1.0.12 default links

Edit: Tapped "Add link" and a popup appeared from Android Settings with checkboxes for all 62 supported links/instances. I guess I have to opt-in. Thanks!

How tf do you post one with a weblink when websites like Giffy wrap it in a website by default.

[โ€“] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago

In contrast to pages like giphy, I'm not enshittified.
In fact you have to commit some serious jank to have a link serve a gif file if included in a page but a website if opened directly. Those "services" have worked hard to maje your experience worse.

What I did is the default. You put the file into the directory of your website and it'll work like that.

Hey, your app is one of the best around there, great job! Do you think you could add predictive back gestures ? (Totally fine if you don't) And maybe make the app available in more languages? :))

Also, do you think you could maybe add an option to get rid of the profile drawer (the one on the left side) and make it look like the google play store one? It's kinda hard to use when on gestures :)))

Thank you for your continued development!

Hi thank your for the update. I want to report an issue which I believe is related to launch modes or navigation stack. Many times I noticed the the app have same screen with multiple instances in backstack so I need to press back button 2 or 3 times to actually go back to front-page.

Thank you for that first feature in the list!!!
