At least they have two whole seasons to wrap stuff up and know about the end ahead of time, unlike Lower Decks, which got the memo in the middle of season development.

What if we made a show called…um, Star Trek: Legacy, continuing the adventures of a group of beloved characters! Nah, that would never work.
we need WAAAAY more Una.
Maybe we could get Captain Una? New ship and she could take the crew that we don't see in TOS with her. Possibly have Kirk and crew crossovers.

Yeah, better quickly end the best Trek show since DS9. Wouldn’t want to maintain viewer engagement after all. That’s some sharp thinking, Paramount.
Would it be better to drag it out past the point where it runs out of steam, audiences stop paying attention, and it falls so hard nobody does anything else with the Star Trek brand on TV for a decade or two?
That’s not actually the only option
It's the one that's happened before.
If only there was a way to look back and figure out where it all went wrong. Oh well better cancel another great show.
If only we could imagine a future in which the miraculous technology and evolved society existed, to allow us to accomplish what you suggest.
Sigh, oh well.
I don't know about "quickly" - at the rate they're going, the show won't end until 2028...
And at least they aren't being cut so fast that the last episode will come out as Riker playing on the holodeck just as the show was getting into the good stuff.
