Fediverse vs Disinformation

1246 readers
2 users here now

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

Lol the only people who’d ever believe that are people who’d never vote for Bernie in the first place

What a loser

My brother mega head was trying to show me how that my presence Bernie even takes big cash. I had to call bullshit and send him a article based on his tiktok video.

"Both are my opponents! My following will love to hear about a connection!"

I can't believe this playbook still works so well.

I always loved the band Dead Kennedys

I mean, from East Bay Ray himself - "Our name is actually homage to the American Dream." After the high profile assassinations of that time, the idea of the American dream died with them.

But I do love them, I'm pickin' up what you are layin' down, and I urge people to check Jello's WWJD youtube channel.

... Oh, and DMBFK Jr. can jog on. Pthhhhbbbbb.

"A republican told lies" isn't news, that's kind of a given.

This community is about debunking misinformation. Even for people who lie all the time it's important to keep track of what lies they tell and what the truth actually is.

You're telling me the man that habitually lies about his political positions would be capable of lying about a political opponent? Unthinkable.
